Though I'm not sure who's place he'll take in Arsenal's midfield. But that's not for this thread now is it.
Was it just me or was Italy whining ALOT...both teams were diving like crazy in that game.

If that's the case, he'll be playing on the wing? That doesn't make sense. He seems like the kinda guy that needs to play in the middle in order to thrive. Only time will tell I guess. Could move Hleb or Flamini to the wing.

Last night was a packed house at 9 local time to watch the Brazil vs. Croatia game, and both teams had plenty of fans representing.
Tonight is going to be the craziest night ever. Germany plays at 9 tonight, the weather is unreal right now, and tomorrow is a national holiday. I am going to get some beer and then head down to the Schlossplatz to watch the game. It is going to be nuts tonight.
Having a vending machine right outside my dorm room that sells beer at 0,75 EUR is so awsome!!!! Words can not describe it.
I think Ballack is going to play tonight as well. Should be a fun night! Go Deutschland and go Hurricanes!!

The Saudi-Tunisia game was pretty good; Saudi Arabia was all over Tunisia for most of the game, and then Tunisia ties it well into injury time.
Poland is all over Germany right now... Not a lot of shots, but a definite territorial advantage.

did any one catch the finish to the Germany Poland game?? it was crazy... the Polish Goalie made a few large saves with about 10-5 minuts left.. and then the back to back crossbars right before injury time, and finally the goal in the 91st minute... wow it was exciting!

Yeah, two pivotal injury time goals today! I was convinced the Germans weren't going to win after the double-crossbar. I think this early adversity is good for Germany, but they're lucky they are in a group with fairly low seeds.

What a CRAZY night last night!!! Downtown Stuttgart > Red Mile and Whyte Ave, holy smokes!!!!! Munich last weeks was really bad but Stuttgart last night was nuts.
What a great game to watch and what a cool way for it to end. Oliver Neuville is my hero!

England today. Can't wait. Rooney will play a part apparently and has been passed match fit. I am expecting a better performace from England tonight, they are playing in the evening so heat won't be an excuse.

I predict 2-0 England. Cause, you know, ol' Sven wouldnt want to but the boots to a team or anything.

Anybody else hear the play-by-play guy's (maybe there's a proper football term for them?) words when the T&T player took a shot in the groin? 'He took the full force of that in the Michael Ballacks.' The commentators are one of the best parts of watching the world cup.
T&T still holding on 34 minutes in. They haven't had anything remotely close to a chance, but they've prevented England's substantial pressure from resulting in very many good chances.

I can't believe T&T is still holding off England, so far there making Sweden not feel so bad! We'll see how long that lasts!

Wow, crazy game--Crouch missed an opportunity from about fifteen feet infront of the net with the goalie out of place and no defenders around him--put it wide of the goal by about 30 feet. And the T&T with an incredible chance at the other end.

England are looking pretty poor. T&T are more than holding their own. Crouch's miss was awful and will only give more ammunition to his detractors. Owen has been invisible again. Sven's 'tactics' are none existent yet again.
Expect to see Rooney in the 2nd half.

AHHH, I wanted T&T to score that goal so badly. This Peter Crouch completely sucks....I don't understand why he's even playing.

He's REALLY tall!
As a Liverpool fan Crouch is a bit of an enigma. Loads of Liverpool fans are still not fans of his. I'd like him to succeed but I really doubt that that will happen.

As I was saying Crouch is really tall, hence the reason he's in there. Happy to see him get that goal after the shocking miss. Great goal by Gerrard agasint Hislop again. He must be sick of the sight of Gerrard.
Distinctly average performance by England again though. I'm still not a fan of England's Swedish coachs' tactics. He is way too defensive for my liking. That was apparant after only taking four recognised strikers to the WC and two of them had injury doubts. With the individuals that England have they should be a much better team than this so I can only put it down to poor coaching.
Lampard was shocking out there too. I liked the performance of Lennon once he came on.
Like I said after the Paraquay game, a wins a win. They're in the next round. It's the first time they've ever won two games to start thr tournament. There are positives but it was oh so frustrating watching them for 80 or so minutes. Get a grip Sven is all I've got to say. Oh and play Gerrard further forward. He should have Lampards position.
