Bands that write songs that a politcaly charged and oppose the government, to sell records when in reality they know nothing about politics and don’t ever actually take action towards the messages they portray in there songs

I hate Bryan Adams......can't stand the guy for some reason.
I also cannot stand Limp Biskit (or however you spell it)
I also like nickelback....please don't hate me but I think that they are pretty good, not great but I like to listen to them.

It is funny there are so many bands that people are bringing up that I forgot I hated, must have just pushed them out of my head.

Simple Plan is awful.

All these indy bands that are supposed to be cool because they are indy are usually crap in my view. I know some people like them for their music but there is a reason they are not mainstream their music is crap.

Green Day has been crap since they became more mainstream. That September Ends song is god awful, Time of your Life sucks, thier last two albums are much worse than Dookie. I would say that Green Day is a perfect example of a band that began to suck once they decided to go more mainstream.

I agree that Nimrod and Minority were bad albums. September Ends song is bad but for the most part Green Day got back to what made them popular on American Idiot and it resurrected their career.

Minority was a single off of the album Warning.

I still haven't figured out why people like Dookie so much. Compared to Nimrod or Warning it sounds repetative and stale. Don't get me wrong, I still love Dookie and will always have my faviorite memories, but Warning and Nimrod are a more complete musicians work .I just love that old 60's sound of Warning.....its addictiving to me anyways.

That's right. Couldn't think of the album name and didn't feel like googling it. I was not a big fan of Nimrod. And I'm 50/50 on American Idiot.

I would say you can attribute it to the change in guitarists. Ya, Frusciante played on Mothers Milk but he was 19 or something and IMO spent too much time trying to emulate Slovak's style. Blood Sugar Sex Magik is really the birth of his song writing abilities. This theory is of course discounting the Navarro album.

Here's something From Wikipedia about the RHCP. I remembered reading this awhile back, and it seems to backup what you said.

I gotta wonder - who is buying all those Nickelback albums? More people seem to hate them than like them on here, and all my friends hate them, and I think they are everything that's wrong with music today. But, someone is buying all those albums. Can't figure that out...

So, add me to the I hate Nickelback club...

Some of the most intricate and melodic "rock" ever written is mediocre?

Each to their own I suppose.

I really can't stand the Bare Naked Ladies. It's just them prancing and dancing around singing little gay songs. Brutal.

"Wish You Were Here" is one of my favorite songs of all time. After that, there isn't much from Pink Floyd that really impresses me.

I found that the more I listened to Floyd, the more I appreciated it. First time I heard "The Wall", there were a couple tunes I liked but the rest was WTF. I listened a few more times, and it seemed like each time another melody would jump out at me.

I've found the much of my favourite music took a few plays before I really appreciated it, and those songs/albums I almost never tire of hearing. Conversely, some tunes I like right away I get sick of hearing very quickly. Creed and Nickelback are prime examples of this; I liked them at first, but got sick of them in a real hurry. I like hearing them once in a while, but not the amount of airplay CJay used to give them (and that's why I rarely listen to CJay anymore).

I envy people who can listen to music and know immediately if they will like it. I just know that I have to listen to some music a few times before I know if it will grow on me.

Put me under the Pink Floyd is overrated camp. It's funny Bobble that the more I listened to Floyd the less impressed I became. On the surface veneer is amazing intricate deep music but the more I listened the more manufactured and simplistic it started to sound. The only good Floyd album in my opinion is Animals. Oddly that's the album that gets almost ZERO air play.

I find the Wall to be possibly one of the most overrated piles of crap rock'n'roll has ever produced. A 90 minute opus to Roger Waters' overbearing mother and jealousy issues wrapped up in a convenient totalitarian zeitgeist to give the listener the impression that it's something bigger than a typical self centered artistic whine column. Blech.
