Iginla was the best player in the league for a short time before Crosby matured. And the suggestion is that he’s overhyped because there was no cup (the puck was in BTW)?
I doubt people are thinking Tij Iginla is a saviour. he’s going to be good though, and it’s a fun notion for people to think about. It’s not going to happen so I’d quit fussing when people talk about it.

People are saying that the Habs have shored up their C depth with the addition of Danault, and the emergence of Kapanen, but I don’t buy it. They still need strength and veteran presence down the middle for the playoffs, and Kadri fits the bill. Danault is a 3C at this point.

And the Habs have been one of the worst defensive teams. Bottom 10 in goals against. Worse than Calgary, Chicago, Winnipeg, etc.
They probably need some help on the back end. Even their forwards need more of a defensive presence. Especially the centers.

They need some more sandpaper too...they will get destroyed in the playoffs again if they dont address it IMO

Agreed. Danault has been playing 4C with Anderson and Gallagher on his wings for the last handful of games.

I think the Mammoth makes too much sense. They need to make a push on their new home.
Beaudin, Gabe Smith and a 1st (or even two 2nds) and I would be more than happy. Two center prospects trending up and some draft capital.

The Flames should just let someone else develop him. Then hes an established player without the pressures of Calgary during development and if its meant to be its meant to be via trade or Free Agency (2033+)

I don't think Kadri is going to get the return a lot of these proposals are suggesting. He is really good for his age right now, but the contract still negates a lot of value (assuming no retention because I don't think they use a retention spot on him). The caveat being that if the Flames take back dead cap or an equally risky contract, but then the return isn't for Kadri, but for the cap space.
Although I could see something like Carolina giving Kotkaniemi and 1st (probably one of their 2028s) just because of the length of the deal left and how inconsequential he has become to them (averages less ice time per game than Jankowski).

Want to say Barnburner suggested 2nd + B prospect for Kadri, and you just say "thanks" and open more roster spots for young players.
He has value this trade deadline, but father time is undefeated.

Barnburner has a lot of stupid takes and this is one of them. You don't trade him if that's the best offer.
