They have 2027. Id also be fine without a first for Coleman if we got a premium prospect

I wonder if Habs would trade Alexander Zharovsky. That has to be the target if I'm Conroy. Habs wouldn't even have to add a 1st round pick then.

Would love it. I was advocating hard for him last year before the draft, but given the year he's having, and reported closeness between him and Demidov - probably a tough one to now get.

Minnesota could really use any of our vets up for grabs, especially Kadri, and they have the assets to get him too. I'll bet the Flames are aware of Stramel and wouldn't mind having him in the pipeline...

Nelson has had a phenomenal season. First power play, second PK, and after tonight’s big game, he’s scored as many as Draisatl and is tied for the 9th most goals as a centre.

Might have been something they’d have considered before his current hot streak, but I don’t think they’d mess with that chemistry unless Kadri was the guy willing to play 3rd line centre.

Lomberg is also UFA and some teams should be targeting him. I’d like him to be re-signed by the Flames before that point, although would also be interesting to trade him for some team’s playoffs and re-sign him in the summer.

If we are getting first round picks, it’s most likely that they will be in the bottom half of the draft. Bottom teams today are unlikely to dump their first round picks. It also makes sense that a team that is near the top today (or in the mix) is more likely to trade a non-roster player (NCAA or CHL) that they have already drafted. If we go that route, we better be sure that we know what we are getting because Flames haven’t had great success with the toss in players (Bahl excluded).

Go Flames go!

Very odd choice of words from the coach for sure
Are these offers restricted to Coleman, Royle?

Apart from his popularity, not sure we need a guy like that.

He brings zero deterrence. Look at all the kids who’ve suffered injuries from big hits while he’s been here.

Not sure many of his fights lead to wins.

His point production is not NHL level even for a 4th line.

Good teams have fourth lines that chip in more than ours.

The cost of keeping him isn’t just the money, it’s tying up a roster spot when there are lots of kids coming through the system.

Hard pass on keeping him from me.

All really good points! I like his heart and work effort. I do think that the younger players need some protection though. Maybe a 1 year deal? We still need to fill roster spots after we trade everyone as I keep reading!

Nothing that says don’t trade him though.

I’m guessing most think that a Minnesota boy going to college will probably not sign with the flames after being traded away by the home Minnesota team.

Reported by Nick Kypreos that the Canes were on Kadri's no trade list.

This is not saying anything against you Sureloss, but I do think it's funny when certain posters are willing to take insider info on things like Trade lists at face value, but turn around and say the same people know nothing when those people question the strategy of the management team.

Yeah, and I see no real reason aside from he doesn't like deep red state politics, which you than can extrapolate to some other teams (which sadly include some contenders). There's really no other reason that a player would eliminate Carolina.

There aren't any ex-teammates on the Canes to convince him, either, aside from Freddie Anderson.

Ummm - because Kypreos said what he said as a fact, while LeBrun said nothing of the kind.

I dunno, pretty big assumption to make. I think Kadri likes playing in markets where hockey matters. Toronto, Colorado, and Calgary - all very strong hockey markets in terms of interest and GAF from fans.

I assume Kadri and his agent would maximize their leverage by mainly putting teams on their list that are likely to want to trade for him.

How much we retain on Kadri? I can’t help but think no one is taking that full salary based on his age. If so, the return is gonna be underwhelming.
