Maybe just the AHL stint then which would be a relief, and good for him to be sure.

I read an article on Michael Misa that said the Sharks had until Jan 10th deadline to decide to send him to the OHL

here is the article:

Quote:
The CHL has a fast-approaching Trade Deadline: Misa has to report back and be on a CHL roster by the Jan. 10 Deadline to play for the Saginaw Spirit or any other OHL team the rest of this season.

Clearly injured in the WJs but still played the final game. Hope that injury wasn't aggravated by playing. I'm sure team medical staff for both Flames and HC were in communication so no surprises when Zayne returned. Must be frustrating for CC to have his young stud D return to the roster banged up.

He's already missed 5 NHL games and counting. Does playing in a different league or tournament restart the clock?

I'm assuming that is why this is still an issue. He's played games in another tournament since being injured, so the Flames can't claim that he needs a reconditioning stint before rejoining the NHL team. So I'm guessing the team will probably sit him for 5 games for the injury sustained at the World Juniors, then send him to the AHL for reconditioning.

Is the AHL also breaking for the Olympics or are they playing on a normal schedule during the games?

I'd be surprised to see Parekh assigned to juniors

We're days away from trading Andersson

I think we will know by Friday what the intention is for Parekh. I doubt they send him back to a mediocre junior team. I think the AHL conditioning stint makes sense. Olympic break and then finish out the last few months of the season slowly gaining a bigger NHL role.

If his rights are dealt to a memorial cup contending team then it is best to send him down to the OHL and play important games. Either way i think we will know soon.

Don't release him for the WJC, then send him to junior immediately after.

He also didn't look good at all. Of the NHLers returned to the world juniors for Canada, Parekh was by far the most successful.

There are only 39 trade-days left in the current season, with a trade-day being any day during which a player can be traded.

T minus 39.

FWIW - Parekh was not traded at the OHL trade deadline.

So likely 5-7 games out in NHL. 5 game AHL conditioning stint then Olympic break.

26 Games after the Olympic break to gain experience at the NHL level.
