It's weird to me how many people here don't like him. I find he's very rarely ever wrong in his takes. He can be a little over the top at times, but his points are pretty on-base in my mind.

Rhett also flip-flops his takes all the time. Last year, he kept switching between selling, and getting more help upfront. I agree with him for the most part, but he definitely has the benefit of hindsight with most of his takes.

In hindsight Parekh should have gone to the NCAA for a season. You can hide smaller forwards in the NHL but not defencemen at 18-19 years old. Skill level he already better than all the Flames D, but physically he is about 5 years behind.
Also agree with Rhett about forget the World Jr. stuff, he won't learn anything there just keep him where you can control what he is doing training and learning.

Unless I'm mistaken (which I could be as this stuff is confusing) I don't believe the NCAA was an option for Zayne because he signed his NHL contract before those rules changed. Once he signed his contract - that option was off the table.

I was 100% doubtful that Parekh would go to the World Juniors this year as it is fairly rare that a kid gets released to play there. As fantastic as a tourney that it is, it really is a big step down from the NHL, and the player takes a pay-cut, no?
However, with the injury and Parekh's tough transition into the NHL, I see it as a more viable choice now. A good way to get him going again - both physically and mentally. I think if he plays, he may regain some confidence, and hopefully that will snowball for him.

Not sure I can think of pundit or member of the media who isn’t hated on CP. It’s just part of the culture of this site.

Ascribing something to “culture” when it’s an extremely tiny percentage that criticize different media members (often different people being critical depending on the media person) is strange. Is the expectation that every media member should be universally liked and respected and be above criticism? Because that doesn’t seem like a reasonable expectation to me.
Peter Maher, Eric D, Ed Whelan, Ryan Leslie, Rick Ball, Meaghan M, Scorpion, Bingo, Pat Steinberg, Rob Kerr, Mike Rogers, Doug Barkley, Brent Krahn.
TBF, aside from Steinberg (and I'm not so sure about the lack of hate there) and Eric D. none of those people tend to go out on a limb with analysis. Ball, Whelan, Mikkelson, Rogers and Barkley pretty much just stick to what's going on on the ice.
