Every loss makes me immeasurably happy. I have been dreaming of this since summer 2024.

A season of futility wouldn't make him more confident change is coming, especially if Parekh flops. Personally, anything that gets him out of town is the best outcome.
Ok well that’s an entirely different opinion that what I was saying
The team generated enough points to make the playoffs 95 percent of the time. So no he may not yet hold the view that they aren’t a playoff team given how close they were last year

His value is lower today than it was in the off season. If he is washed, teams might be more reluctant to want to take on that contract.

He hasn't been the same player that he was last year. He looks like he lost s step.

4 games
Last October he had 6 points in the entire month

It also doesn’t matter what his value was in the past if he wasn’t willing to waive his no trade clause

Flames plane still hasn't left for Salt Lake yet and Vegas already did. Usually 90 minutes post game is standard for a flight. This puts the Flames at hotel arrival and in bed probably close to 4 am. Perhaps Conroy working the phones? injury and evaluation ? Or could be a mechanical issue.

I keep Weegar to mentor Parekh.
And you are stuck Huberdeau.

So the list is probably Andersson, Coleman, and maybe Kadri if he changes his POV.
I’d say outside of:

- Wolf
- Parekh
- Gridin
- Coronato
- Bahl
- Backlund
- Weegar
- Frost
- Honzek

I’d have anyone else on the block if you could get something decent back.

Ha ha. Not sure what GM would be foolish enough to take them.

The one silver lining from this game is that it might have been the last time I’ll have to watch Miromanov try to play defense again.

I’m guessing when Huberdeau comes back that they will put Miromanov on waivers. Scarier decision is what happens when Pospisil comes back and there aren’t any more injuries. I would waive Kirkland or Sharangovich. I really hope they don’t turf Gridin or Honzek.

Another game where the Flames deserved at least a point. Difference was Vegas has an elite number 1 centre who took over while the Flames top centre is aging and had a horrible game.

Thought Miro looked okay to start and got gradually worse. Him and Bean shouldn’t play again. Give the young guys a chance.

Zary is wasted playing 10 minutes on the 4th line. Also think Sharangovich will be my whipping boy this season. Needs to start scoring or easily has the worst contract on the team.

I read that in some cases teams are choosing to stay overnight and travel the next morning. Especially on back to back nights. Flames are probably going to Utah early in the morning bbecause of back to back games and they want more sleep the night of game 1. While Vegas wants to get home and don't have a game the next day.

Flames are starting to look like the team we thought they would be last season. Clearly they are missing Huby on offense but defensively they haven't been as good as last season. Something is a miss as they just don't look the same. Still it's not like the Knights dominated as the difference in the game was Eichel who's looking really good to start the season.

I don't know if there is a stat for goals scored after the opposition changes their goalie but I'm guessing the Flames would be the worst.

The way they played all of last year is a tough way to play. Hard to capture that lightning in a bottle twice.

All summer long there were a few of us that said we need to trade a forward. The rolling 4 lines will not work, coach will coach to win games and some players will be lost the shuffle.

Huberdeau is hurt and so is Pospisil. 2 players that can play top 9 and 1 player that could lead our forwards in ice time. Yet even with the injuries, players are not playing.

Zary got just over 10 mins last night - 12:05 for the season

Klapka just over 10 mins - 11:41 for the season.

How does this get better for these 2 when Pospisil and Huberdeau are back?

Has Rasmus Anderson increased his trade value yet? I've seen nothing.

These deals needed to happen in the summer.

It’s too early in the season to say with certainty this team is this bad.

I think Huska has (will have) them playing too structured to be a bottom 5 team but time will tell.

I think the hope was that he'd get off to a good start and wash the stench of last season out of everyone's mouth.

He'll need to play much better if the Flames hope to increase his trade value.

As long as he's even serviceable, he should bring a 1st as a rental, so I doubt waiting has hurt.

Yeah it's kind of a testament to the players and coaching staff that they could keep it up all season. It's always difficult for overachieving teams to repeat the success the following season especially given the roster hasn't been upgraded significantly.

I honestly don’t understand this. Do you sit and actively cheer against your favourite team? Like you’re bummed out when the Flames score?

Edit: nvm. Just noticed the poster

The distaste for bottom roster players year over year always astounds me.

Miromanov is D #8 and didn't have a good game, and I'm sure like we saw last year with Barrie the decisions will be made.

Every team has bottom roster players, "with this coach and GM" is silly nonsense.
