It's inconceivable.

Surely it's impossible for Connor Hart to become involved with the Oilers the moment he's available. Surely.

Everyone knew Kane was funny business.

Questioning Landeskog was ridiculous.

Not particularly Kane, but delaying surgery on injuries which cause players pain or otherwise affect their lives seems to me something the PA should be concerned about.

If any one thought Kane's f####ery was left behind in San Jose they were kidding themselves.

Sure, we didn't know how Kane's shady/rule-breaking/law-breaking behaviour would rear its ugly head but you knew it would.

One solution is to have a per-game cap for both regular season and the playoffs.

You can sign and park a hundred players if you want, but the AAV of your lineup every game has to be under the cap.

So if the Oilers buyout Kane is any other team going to touch him?

How many other NHL owners have a closet full of sex pest or aggression vs. women claims against them? Katz just didn't care and everyone knows why.

Didn't Kane also "wait" until training camp to get surgery completed on his injury from the previous season? In a World where athletes get surgery within 24-48 hours of injury, nothing suspicious about that.

I have a feeling a big part of this is because Kane complained because he wanted to come back sooner.

I think in other cases you had scenarios where the player was in on the whole thing. With stuff like Kucherov and Stone they have legitimate injuries, and the players are also happy to sit out. So no real way to dissprove anything.

But with Kane I think the kicker is that he wanted to come back.

Tampa did the same thing with Kucherov. They were trying to figure out how to get under the cap during the offseason and when they couldn't, they announced that Kucherov would be getting surgery. There was no reason to wait that long except to use it as a contingency plan. Not everyone, but I recall quite a few people praising them for being smart. In the end, they won a Cup by doing it and other teams learned. I actually don't blame the Oilers for doing because it seemed like it was the thing to do if you wanted an edge.

I wouldn't be surprised if in Kane's case, they had something on him and used threats of terminating his contract if he didn't comply.

Others already covered this, but I'll just add that unions kn general tend to be more concerned about overall principles than individuals.

Kind of their job to do exactly that.

Right but again, with the Oilers...Keith, Smith and now Kane. Its kind of their 3rd strike.

Nate Diaz once said....I'm not surprised M fers .

And who cares really . Did he make a difference? Move the needle.

Sure they could have sold more white wife beater shirts than jerseys with his name on the back written in black crayon misspelled with pre soiled whatever on them but this is ENG

2 shots at a cup and couldn't get it done . These are the biggest donkey dong pink pony's I've ever seen blow 2 cup finals in the history of hockey period.

The NHL aided them, SN crew and worst cast of media I've ever seen drink the kool-aid for how many years now. ???

So now this is just another excuse .?!?!?!?

Go away ENG ....even Leon's said it best .....NO ONE CARES!!!
