i have never but good things about him/his season ?

Well he has not played a single nhl game and is going into his D+5 with two full years of AHL experience. seems like he might not have a future here.

Pospisil played three years in Stockton and one with the Wranglers before he finally made the NHL. Zary played two full years in the minors. Klapka had two years in the minors before this season, and still played more games for the Wranglers than the Flames this year.

Two years in the AHL is much too soon to say that a player hasn't got a future here.

He’s only 21. Zary, Klapka, Kerins, and a couple others got their first NHL action at 22, all of which are still developing.

I wouldn’t write off his future.

I don't see a way that Parekh returns to junior. If he hadn't signed his deal, then the NCAA might have been a great spot for him. Europe is a good spot for him, and I wonder why more prospects like Parekh don't end up going there. Probably because they simply end up making the NHL instead.


Parekh will be in a good spot starting off on the 3rd pairing and 2nd unit PP time to start. I bet he moves up as the season moves along and solidifies himself on the 2nd pairing and takes over the PP completely. He is a rare talent. His adjustment will be with how much less time he will have to make plays, and how much more work he will have to do in order to find that extra time. He will find it.

I can't remember a stand out training camp from any one for years here. Maybe Coronato for 2-3 exhibition games 2 years ago.

We excuse performances for vets all the time but a kid at his first camp doesn't get any leeway?

Agreed. Being more physically mature than he was last fall will make a big difference in that. As others have observed, Parekh has grown visibly over the course of the season. He definitely has the brains to play his game at NHL speed. His body needed time to catch up.

Grushnikov showed extremely well last camp and so did BRZ.

Honzek actually made the team out of camp after a stellar pre season, time it seems has washed away that little fact.

Honestly I never thought that Pospisil become one of our important player until he called up and gave him a good opportunity. So I I would like to see many prospect as possible in the line up.

Grushnikov looked ok at Penticton.

He was lost in the main camp and clearly above his head against pre-season level of play.

He's not even really that good in the AHL, where he can barely crack the top 6 on the AHL team.

He was a fun story in Penticton but he isn't much of a prospect moving forward.

Well, of course a vet gets more leeway, because there’s a body of NHL work to consider aside from camp performance.
