Just please make the playoffs or tank. Stop staying in 9th place in the west!

Great game. Looks like the wild card chase is back on the menu. Well done by Huska with the new lines and probability the best defensive effort all season. This was a blowout if not for Shesterkin putting on a clinic.

Can’t believe Fox played 23 minutes. Was a complete non factor. Fans complain about the Flames being stuck in the mushy middle but the Rangers could be there for a decade.

I love how practically every time Fox goes up against the Flames he looks like garbage. Him playing like trash against us brings a smile to my face similarly to how Tom Erikson's career imploding did.

Were the Rangers trying to lose? It's like Shesterkin was the only one who didn't get that memo lol. Man the Rangers were bad holy cow.

He definitely is. His skating metrics are way down this year, across the board. Last season he was an above-average skater at worst, this year he's solidly below-average.

High ankle sprain before the season started, just hasn't bounced back. I saw a suggestion somewhere that the Flames should just shut him down for the year and I can't say I disagree with that. He brings nothing right now.

I'd really love to give some prospects a look. Let them taste "playoff hockey" so to speak

Solovyov, Stromgren and Kerins specifically.

I'll take 9th and giving up the 16th overall pick, over 11th and giving up the 12th overall pick.

Looking at it today and the bottom 10 is probably further off than people liked to think or the standing look.

The bottom 8 is pretty much unobtainable for the Flames at this point San Jose, Chicago, Nashville, Buffalo, Philly, Seattle, Pittsburgh, Anaheim are pretty locked into that. Those teams are all .485 or worse, are unlikely to go on a run, and are all bad teams.

So now you're looking at 2 teams: Detroit and Boston

Detroit is currently in that 10 hole and they are going to drop even further IMO. They have the toughest schedule in the league left (.594 winning percentage), and their easiest games are Boston, Utah, St Louis, and Montreal (which are not even that easy), and they are already 2-8-0 in their last 10.

@Knights
@Utah
@Avalanche
Senators
Bruins
@Blues
Hurricanes
Panthers
Canadiens
Panthers
@Lightning
Stars
@Devils
@Leafs

They could easily go like 5-9-0 in their last 14.

Which then leaves Boston as the team you're banking on going on a bit of a run to be able to get into the bottom 10. And they've been pretty brutal their last 10 games too (3-6-1).

Bottom 10 is going to be tough even if the Flames were to tank at this point due to games in hand and the points in the bank already.

Yeah, I get that given how he's played. Problem is, a team already very low on skill doesn't have the luxury of scratching their second or third best shot.

The next 3 games are going to tell the tale. If they don't get at least 4 points (probably need at least 5 if we're being honest) vs Devils, Islanders, Kraken, they're looking at 3 games vs Stars, Oilers, Avs...

The Flames could be completely out of the playoff race by the end of the month.

This. Just do their best to get as high as they can in the overall standings. If playoffs then great. If not, then hope that the Devils pick is close to the pick they are giving up. In the end, cheer for wins.

One shot on net last night.

I think the chances again for the Rangers were 7-0 when Sharangovich was out there. The stats, for some time now, are not pretty.

Rags had 71 points going into the game. They're not good.

They played like a group that's quit on their coach, but apparently they actively hate Drury.

I would if I was NYR fan. Year 2 of 7 for a 32 year old JT Miller with an 8 million dollar caphit, no retention.

I don't think I've seen a lazier player in a Flames uniform in a long time. Even Kuzmenko battled harder.

It does seem like it is time to sit Sharky down for a while and see if someone else can perform in those minutes. At the very least someone needs to come out even on the scoring chances for and against.

Should have been 5 or 6 - 1.

At this point, because he doesn’t score and isn’t physical. I’d like to get one of those. So even if it’s a third line grinder just add someone that does something…… anything
