Brodin is one of the best defensive D in the league, on par with Tanev IMO

I wouldn't trade Ras for him or EK obviously...Brodin is good but over rated IMO
Good for Canada anyway, like EK can defend the Canadian forwards

You didn’t use a comma so you must mean a baby conceived because parents aren’t watching, or celebrating a Canada win.

What's the tie breaker scenario to determine who gets into the final game?
I asked ChatGPT if it could come up with a scenario where multiple teams tied but it failed miserably but I'm sure there's a possible way for it. Even for 3 teams to end up with the same record.

Its crazy to me there isn't a 1 v 4/2 v 3 semi final round
They will regret it big time if Canada or the US or god forbid both are out early

Tiebreakers
Teams are ranked according to points earned (3 points for a regulation win, 2 points for an overtime or shootout win, 1 point for an overtime or shootout loss, 0 points for a regulation loss). If tied on points, tiebreakers would be applied in the following order:[24]
Head-to-head result (only if tie between two teams);
Total regulation wins;
Total regulation and overtime wins;
Total goal difference;
Total goals scored;
Goal difference among tied teams;
Goals scored among tied teams;
Most even strength goals for among tied teams;
Fewest even strength goals against among tied teams.

Ok so I hope it ends up:
Canada 1 RW 1 OTW 1 OTL = 6 pts
USA 1 RW 1 OTW 1 OTL = 6 pts
Sweden 1 RW 1 OTW 1 OTL = 6 pts
Finland 3 RL = 0 pts
Same goal differential and goals scored. The two teams that get to play the final game is decided by the eighth tie-breaker.

Thinking about the potential for anthem booing on Saturday…
If Canadians want to show their displeasure with the USA wouldn’t it make more sense to stay sitting down and keep quiet? Not even take off your hat. Or take a knee if you really want to piss off maga lol. Standing, taking off your hat and then booing seems a bit silly.

I don't really like booing the anthem, because the anthem represents more than whoever is in power. Now, if they wanted to chant "#### Trump" while the anthem is playing, I'd be in to that.

As we look forward to Saturday I really wish guys like Bedard and Celebrini were on this team over pieces like Bennett, Cirelli, and even Marchand.
And mostly because I think it would be good experience for them to be in this atmosphere before the Olympics next year (which is really the important tournament).
It's a little bit like the 2006 team not taking Crosby and Staal since they were in their rookie / 2nd season even though they were performing like All stars already.
Winning here would be fun, but to me this tournament is really just a warm up for the Olympics next year.

Yup, and I've basically embraced that. It's a fun appetizer. Gets younger folks who haven't seen best on best really ever a changed to get dialed in for next year.
