Well...looks like Jon and Ana managed to screw that up about as badly as they possibly could have, in terms of future relationships. Hell, they even screwed the task up that they should have burned the Express Pass on, if they had intended to burn it.



That ATV ride wasn't exactly much of a 'challenge', but it sure looks fun!

This week, the teams travel to Bali and Jonathan & Ana play both the Driver's Seat and Express Pass about as badly as you can play them. They won the leg, but made enemies of everyone in the process.

Bernie & Carrigain have been bickering since the race began and it finally caught up to them, so they're going home.

I’m not sure about this. Sure the Lori & Scott were bitching about them but the teams from 4-9 recognized all of their complaining and that they are the real threat

This week, the race continues in Bali. There's a Double U-Turn vote, which drops Jonathan & Ana and Scott & Lori to the bottom of the pack. Unlike many U-Turns in the past, this one actually makes a big difference in the outcome and Scott & Lori are going home.



Phil pronounces coral like Carl, so every time he said it, all I could think of was the Rick Grimes meme...

I didn't expect Scott & Lori to last long when I got stuck with them as the final choice, but they were a pleasant surprise. It's too bad they had to go out like this.

Dumbest episode in Amazing Race history

Bad enough you just vote to make the 2 top teams do a u turn - but also making all the teams wait until 8 am as well so everyone starts tied . If you want this dumb mechanic vote before the teams leave so the teams at the top still have their head starts and don’t have a “wait” to even the field challenge start time

i thought this was always the point of the u-turn, for a team to get there first to push back and hopefully eliminate a similarly strong team and keep weak teams in. And if the u-turned team doesn't get knocked out, now you have drama!

This is why pre-determined alliances are stupid (season 32) because the eventual winners should have been u-turned many times.

But the previous U-turns would typically be people at the front of the pack, and it would push them down, but not necessarily out. By having everyone at the same point, there is no hope to catch up. This version might work if it was done at the start of a double leg, but with only one challenge after the double u-turn, they had no shot. One of the two top teams was going to get eliminated. That should have been obvious to the producers.

Yeah, it was a dumb set-up, because it basically ensured the two teams chosen would be battling for last. But I don't think their goal was the make the race part exciting. For several years now, they've been trying to make it into a show about drama between teams. Kind of a "Big Brother travels the world" format.

I really preferred when it was nothing but detours, road blocks, and a fast forward that any team could go for.

This week, the teams travel to Dubai and do a bunch of Dubai things. Pop & Jeff just miss catching a train that would have put them 4 minutes ahead of Nick & Mike, but in the end, the brothers win a footrace to the mat and the lumberjacks are going home.

Next time: The teams travel to Bulgaria and need to drive themselves, which could be problematic. There will also be another Double U-Turn, but this looks like it will be a normal one, no pre-vote.

Looking at the remaining schedule, and knowing that because they did a double elimination on the first leg, they will need to have a non-elimination/double/"Mega" leg at some point, I suspect next week's episode will end without an elimination.
