Really, the Leafs have more home games than any other team when you consider fan support.

The Canadiens fans are similar.
Imagine having 60 home games a year, no salary cap for the majority of your existence, being the richest team ever, and still not winning a Cup for 100 years.

Winning can do a lot for a franchise. Win and half of those Leafs fans will go away. Not all of them, but at least a big portion of them. Calgary Flames tickets will be hot commodities when this team is young, exciting and winning. A couple of deep playoff runs, and the Saddledome/New Arena will be 'home' even during Leafs games, though there will still be a lot of Leafs fans. Won't get rid of them all, but an exciting Calgary team can keep a lot of them out.

Their skilled players were better than our skilled players, which exposed our defence, and Wolf had an off night, which exposed everything even mord.

Didn't expect to win, but felt we didn't help ourselves.

Will STH please sfop selling their tickets to Leafs fans, there was far too much blue in the dome last night.

Onto the next one.

I thought the Flames passes were all over the place,

Behind the player in their skates, etc

Just not a clean game,

I thought Rasmus really struggled last night. Something about his game comes unhinged when the stakes get higher and the team is pressing for offense.

It reminded me of the series against the Oilers when he had brain fart after brain fart. I find his hockey sense really lacking at times (i.e. you've just pulled the goalie, so rim it around in the o-zone?) and his pinch reads downright awful.

Fair enough, but that will lead to prices skyrocketing on the secondary market and eventually people will say uncle when they see how much they can get.

Now you know what it's like to be a Seattle fan when the Blue Jays come to town. Except it's worse because most of these people are from BC, programmed by the MLB monopoly known as Rogers, and aren't Ontario transplants. What you see now didn't exist 25 years ago; they were just another team.

On the bright side, parting Leafs fans from even more of their money sounds like a win.

This is one of the reasons why I’d almost hate it more if McDavid did end up leaving the Oilers to sign with the Leafs. Their fans are already insufferable enough and that would only make it worse.

Haven't seen mentioned , but I love that Coronato is developing some bite in his game.

Think of all the first round exits though. And only seeing him against the flames twice a year. I’m good with that trade off.

Not just Calgary. Buffalo gets it even worse:

https://www.sportsnet.ca/nhl/article...falo-vs-leafs/

"If we play well, we can take the fans out of the game," Ruff told reporters on Friday.

"We've got to embrace the challenge. It's not what you want to see in your building obviously, but we've got a challenge ahead of us," Ruff said. "It's all about the two points, it's not about the fans."
