BTW...I am glad to be back to talk hockey with my friends here at CP. Hope for a good season for our teams, although, I haven't decided whether to switch allegiance to, now local, Hockey Club, or the team from my hometown, Blackhawks.
As a fan of both the Panthers and Flames, I say...

I really hope they don't name this team Yeti. I would love to see the team named for the Utah State mammal, the Wapiti. Can you imagine how annoying an elk call goal horn would be?

The whole city seems compact to me. I was brought up in the sprawling Chicago metro area. SLC seems to peter out after the one layer of western suburbs like, West Valley, and the freeway from the airport to the East side of town takes you out of the city within only 20 minutes, so getting around E/W doesn't seem challenging, unlike getting N/S, say, from Ogden to Provo, during workdays.

Wait, this no talent homeless looking Oiler honk is still on the panel and wasn't fired for berating people on Twitter while he defended his beloved Oil?

Yeah Airport to Park City can be 40 minutes of driving when it’s clear. I’m not a fan of Provo or any other place on Utah county, hah. Salt Lake and Summit counties are awesome.
What other city can you use public transportation to get from the arena to past airport security in that amount of time? They did a great job extending UTA to the airport.

I am not impressed by the old dudes that the 'Hawks have brought in. Kind of counter intuitive to a "rebuild."
I agree, I think it was a little early in the rebuild to be playing the free agent market like that. Especially given that it's a market like Chicago, they have the luxury of be able to wait and lure in bigger names.

If you want a stable pony, say, Tereveinen for Bedard or Kurashev, fine, but Smith? Maroon? To what purpose?

Yeah I feel using the abominable snowman thing is a copy of the Avalanche style- I recall a yeti foot was on one of their jerseys. I don’t like the Yeti name. Wapiti/elk would be something new- though might have to dumb down the name to the Utah Elk. Though then they are copying Edmonton…

'Hawks got caught out for a long shift at the end of the 2nd. Altitude in SLC is 4265 feet, no joke, but, not quite as bad as Denver, 5279 feet. Got to watch your shift length.
