The Flames best guys are very young. It's normal for them to struggle a bit in a tournament like this. You have 18 year olds going up against 20-23 year old guys.

It's a big difference.

Maybe it's just me but Ciona generally looked slow in the AHL last year but to me it looks like his skating and speed has improved for sure this offseason

Flames have 4 top end puck movers on the Blueline and so far they've had a time of it trying to adjust to pro level forechecking. But it's going to be really really fun once they adapt.

Critique: Lipinski needs to stand up straighter when carrying the puck. His shoulder and head are slouched and his heads not on a swivel. Needs to be upright more.

Best player on the icer for both sides appears to be Yager. Dudes motor is best in show right now.

Lipinski hasn't had a bad shift yet. Lots of takeaways, creating plays, using his size well.

Thought Misa and Lipinski were our best forwards- really impressed with the way Misa takes pride in his defense, and he’s an excellent skater. When Lipinski rounds out his stride, he’s going to be a player.

Ciona’s skating has improved more than any player I’ve seen.

Gridin is putting forth a solid effort in two zones, but still does too much puck-watching in the D-zone.

Battaglia is my boy, but he’s having trouble moving the puck to teammates, missing the mark often. He’s relying on dump and chase, but doesn’t yet have the top-end speed to recover the puck.

Because the Flames are too cheap and generally piggy back on the other teams production.

Usually, in one intermission, they show pre-recorded stuff from one team and do a live interview with someone from the other team. Then, in the next intermission, they do the opposite.
