yeah Mark Lee not holding back in that clip.
love the footage of Blake- running the epic unsung 2nd leg like Glenroy Gilbert 28 years earlier just blaring at Rodney the whole way following along
and then Rodney, like Bruny all those years ago running a strong bend, and giving it to the big dog in good enough shape to bring it home
the footage of the women watching the guys finish too is awesome

I wish the Americans didn't get DQd and were 7th instead.

The women's breaking competition was great. I hope we can see other street dance styles at the olympics in the future

Still buzzing after that. Incredible.
Just to add to the earlier discussion, I like Lyles. My daughter had an event at the US Olympic training center in COS three years back and Lyles came and spoke with her and a teammate. He was really impressive, I’m a fan.
And yeah I like the “world champions of what?”

It's funny how the color guy's interjections keep growing throughout the race, and by the end they are both just calling the race without regard for the other.

Agreed...when I got a notification from The Athletic about the race, you'd think the Americans lost the medal due to the DQ. You'd have to read over half the article to know they got 7th before the DQ happened.

Apparently the rules used to be that you can’t touch the line of the inside lane at all, but it changed a few years ago. Now you can touch the line but can’t have consecutive steps touching it
That’s what coach Glenroy Gilbert said, and I think it was a step by de Grasse

They've won eleven golds on the track in Paris.
Making the US Olympic team is akin to a curling team winning the Brier. Winning gold is formality and they do it better than any other country.

On the Olympics app they show Canada with gold but they also show the TR17.3.3[L] lane infringement.
Will Canada keep the gold?

Yes, if it was there second lane infringement in the competition, they would have been DQ

in aggregate totally true. US athletics is a force. their national championships are essentially an Olympics. Talent up and down
and yet we have this now. Olympic 4x100 gold men last 30 years
Jamaica 2
Canada 2
Italy 1
Trinidad 1
Great Britain 1
USA 1
almost without exception (Jamaica might say hi here) they come with the 4 best guys, or at least the best collective- and yet here we are. and its fairly evident why

the inside lane is particularly an issue on the bend (such as the Rodney step) in a straightaway there is no advantage to inside lane- but you can't impede a competitor

The venue for beach volleyball is nuts. It's a shame they're going to tear it down after the Olympics. I would have spent a few days there if I went to these games.
