Prospective college free agents are going to look at the MortonGate clown show and sign elsewhere!!!!!!

I’m sure it’ll be sorted out tomorrow.

So, does anyone know the difference between a <25 ELC contract and a >25 contract? What are we talking here? A higher AHL salary?

I would have thought there would be more constraints on an ELC vs regular. Would the player have more bargaining power vs elc?

You can’t have an ELC over 25. It’s just a SPC.

I'm sure the agent (or his staffer) is feeling embarrassed.

But I'm not sure I've ever been or worked in a mistake free work environment. Crazy to jump all over people for simple mistakes at a moment's notice, especially when they cause exactly zero damage.
I agree some are over reacting. But it isn't one mistake. There has been a lot of "noise" around the organization that is reminiscent of the Feaster era.

Elaborate on the “noise” and other mistakes.

Thanks.

Exactly. So what’s the difference between the two that they’re going to have to revise?

Clearly the trade returns from the UFA purge, or the Markstrom debacle. Nobody wants to stay...

I mean, the signs are there man! I mean the noise! You just have to listen!

There is no cap on how much they can sign for I believe.

He took the best offers , as opposed to letting the UFAs walking for zippo.

See Brad Treliving.

I know, I was joking. I thought it was funny that anybody would relate the Conroy era to the Feaster era. Like it's really funny and not to be taken seriously.

I wonder if we even hear of this if it was a team like Chicago or Vegas that made this mistake? The NHL would probably just fix the contract for them.

It's likely so rare for a 25+ North American player to being signing his first NHL contract that this might be the first time it has happened since the entry-level contract was introduced.

Even a guy like Luke Philp, who played 4 years of University hockey after aging out of the WHL, was still on an ELC for his first contract.

Who cares? Mistakes are made, people are human, whatever. I'm sure they'll fix it. This sounds like a minor blip.
