Henrique and Carrick both have more SH TOI than any Oilers centre. This bolsters their PK and likely removes Draisatil and McDavid from any PK duties, also takes pressure off Nugent-Hopkins.

Good move for a team that thinks it has a shot to go deep into the playoffs this year, and relies so heavily on the top-end of its roster.

Expensive, sure, but if you have a Championship window you should do what you can to kick that window as wide open as possible.

Carrick was available free on waivers at least 7 times in the last 6 years. Cleared each time. https://www.capfriendly.com/waivers/players/sam-carrick

I was pissed because I genuinely thought Henrique was 10 years younger.

Like...a 1st for a solid 24 year old? Okay....

This guy is so old he could retire any day now and start collecting a pension.

In the McDavid era yes, but this year the Oilers haven't been bad 5 on 5 and great on the PP. PK might be their weakness and these players help that.

They need d, but they may still add one.

you see a thin draft class. Ken Holland sees 4 more picks he can trade.

Funny thing is Marek/Friedman mentioned that Carrick requested a trade, now that is what you do to a player who requests a trade!

Ah, he said negative things about a very bad Flames team. No one else is doing that right now. Gate keeping how someone gets to be a fan is some silly stuff.

The fact that they got ice time on the Ducks doesn't mean much

And positive things about an Oilers team. Not everybody on this forum shows their true colours like you do, we have seen it time and time again. If you are trashing everything about the organization all the time and propping up their most hated provincial rival excuse me if that seems a little suspicious.

Ducks got a first for Henrique and Conroy couldn't get a first for Tanev? Lame.

He could have. The Oilers offered a 1st and Ceci. Conroy chose the Dallas package and it was the correct move

If they go into the playoffs without improving in net and the blueline, they are more delusional than I thought.

Skinner and Pickard is who you are pinning your championship hopes on in goal? Seriously? Without any relevant picks left there is little to no pathway to get a competent backup in place now either.

1. Do you have a source for this?
2. How is it the correct move?

Both JFresh and The Athletic grade Henrique as a sub-5th-percentile penalty-killer. I sure hope the Oilers acquired him to play #1 PK.

The options to get the 1st came with baggage that the team didn't seem worth taking on and I don't blame them.

They like grushnikov as the next shutdown guy.

That said, holding out probably opens up other paths to getting a 1st back.
