Huberdeau isn’t just invisible but rather makes his linemates worse. They’ve basically tried everything from benching to player rotation. The only logical next step is to send him to the press box for a few games and maybe see the game from a different perspective. He doesn’t seem like the type of guy who would respond well to that though. The third period benching he had a few games ago has seemed to make him even worse. Such a crippling contract and a marriage that both parties probably regret.

On the plus side the kids continue to impress. Makes the games exciting for me to see their progression. Bring on the youth movement.

Saying this part with a russian accent is a lot of fun.

Send him to the Wranglers for a month or two.

How great would it have been if the refs let Zadorov and Gallagher go at the end? I have no idea what Gallagher thought he was going to do, but it would’ve been hilarious!

They can't. It's popcorn, bench, or NHL ice time.

Glad we managed to hold on for the W. It was a pretty entertaining game. Markstrom stood on his head. The Kadri line was fun. PP remains the same.

As an aside I made this, when I was a little more frustrated with the team. Hopefully some of you like it:

They can. Just need Iggy to ask nicely in a dark hallway in the back of the dome after everyone has left.

Huberdeau should get a refund from his sports Psychologist. Just a shell of his former self. Just lost out there. I'm sure it's no fun for him out there either. Just a sad situation. Hopefully he figures a way to turn it around. I'm rooting for him.

I was on the road when the game ended, and just got home with these incisive bits of reporterage:

1. It's really, really hard to out-tank a team that has LTIRetired its highest-paid player and biggest star. I mean, we all know Carey Price is perfectly healthy, and I'm sure he'll be back up and playing again just as soon as the Habs lock down that #1 overall pick.

2. It would be the mostest Flamesiest thing ever to trade for Josh Anderson, as certain CPers would like. How big a bum is he? He can't even score on Jakob Markstrom, that's how big.

3. Markstrom has finally lost whatever athleticism he ever possessed. For the last year and a half we've been watching him scramble to get out of the way of the puck. Now he's even too slow to do that.

4. I didn't like the first goal at all. Nazem from Zary and Zadorov. No hockey player worth his jock ever had a Z in his name, except Gretzky, and he pronounced his like an S. Three Z's on the ice at once is three too many. What are these guys, Nazis or something? Huska should have declined the goal and apologized to the officials.

5. This team is so hopelessly bad it called up a Popsicle from the minors… and is giving him a regular shift. I hang my head in shame.

6. And of course, two more points that we desperately needed not to have. Ecch.

Next time these two teams meet, they should both just forfeit and decline the points. Everyone will leave much happier, except the chumps who paid for tickets.

Really, after 3 or 5 games this would be ridiculous. After 15 games they have to be thinking about it.

Flames have got 7 points out of the last 10 possible, has Huberdeau helped to get any of them? Especially the way Pospisil and Zary have come to play.

Unfortunately I don't think there's anyone left like that to call up but at least they'll take the opportunity seriously.

She is not the only one who has suggested this.

Even the best pro athletes need to adjust their game as the years go by and their bodies, teammates and coaches change. And the competition learns to adapt to them.

He is just in a downward spiral now. Someone needs an idea of how to reverse course and I'm pretty sure changing linemates and third period benchings aren't going to do it.

Maybe he needs to go to LA and train with Apollo for a while.

On my way home I turned on Fan960.

Heard Wills voice. Changed station. Literally can’t even listen to him. Unlistenable.

His game never really relied on a ton of speed though
