I have a different reason for favouring that idea.
In one of his recent interviews (linked from some post or other on CP, browser history too cluttered to find it just now), Huberdeau said something to the effect that the game he sees in his head no longer matches the game being played on the ice. His perceptions have got out of whack.
When Gaudreau was a rookie, you'll remember, he did very little his first few games. Then he was scratched and told to watch the game closely from the press box. That gave him the information he needed to contribute effectively on the ice. The same treatment could help Huberdeau get his read on the game back.
(And if it doesn't, let's face it, the team won't lose anything extra by scratching Huberdeau for a night.)
