My prediction is that Sharangovich and Coronato combined will be much better for the Flames than Toffoli and Lucic combined.

I love Toffoli for his shot and his knowledge of what Sutter wanted even if he was a bit slow, but I think Sharangovich's speed/shot/responsibility and Coronato's shot/ bison motor will both be better matches with Huberdeau's style of play.

It's fun to watch hockey again and it's nice to finally get 10 even if it was against a team predominantly made of AHLers.

Ha ha, the yahoo sports app boxscore lists R.Zanuillan and A.Taratukhin on the Flames roster with 0:00 in ice time.

Roughly 2/3rds of the Flames regular squad. I get it though, that top line needs time to build chemistry and build some confidence early. Huberdeau and Lindholm only played on a line together for about 15.5% of total ice time last year, our powerplay will also benefit from them building that regular chemistry. I sort of lament the fact that we will never get to see how good a Huberdeau-Lindholm-Tofolli line could have been if they'd been given the lions share of the season to build some chemistry. Coronato looked good out there, I think he's ready to take the step. I'd like to see Coronato get a look on the top line wing at some point, I think he's a natural fit for Huberdeaus style of play. Solovyov looked pretty solid out there too, strong stay at home defenseman who blocks shots too. I think a year under Tanevs tutelage could really help him round out his game. I know it's preseason, but I think this is a start on the right foot!

I hear that can come in handy in the Euro leagues where most of them will be playing soon.

EDIT TO ADD:

For those of you following the lesson from home,

is the Esperanto for

‘ˇNo más!’

Also about top line chemistry.

Coronato reminds me of Joey Mullen. Both US College Players. Both around 5'9-5'10 and 180 lbs. Both have great shots and are opportunistic. Both shoot right. They even look a bit alike.

Hopefully, Coronato has a similar career.

I think that's way too early to tell. He also already played 3 games in the young stars tournament. It was the first preseason game for most of our lineup. That's why Huska was adamant about consistency when asked about Coronato. Now he needs to do it again, and keep doing it as the competition ramps up.

That said, it was a great first step in forcing his way into the lineup.

All the guys fighting for spots looked pretty damn good. Helps knowing you have a chance I guess. Klapka would make me nervous if he was on the other side.

I think Coronato already had a spot, he just needs to keep it. The way he played tonight definitely didn't hurt his cause.

I agree completely. Hopefully he can also do that during the regular season (and playoffs)!
