Backlund seems to be an amazing linemate for rookies too. He has an amazing two way game. There is a reason he seems to be the guy that rookies are stapled to year after year.

I thought a lot of rookies/younger players looked great playing with Backlund despite the tough assignments. Bouma, Byron, Coulborne(?), Bennett, Tkachuk.

He does because as a shutdown like they flip the ice a lot.

With the defensive zone changes I'm excited to see how they can get going offensively again.

Exactly. He’d be sheltered the best on a line with Kadri with the opposite teams shut down line taking on the Lindholm line.
