Sounds like CDC paste is going oiler PR route. Control the media and control the message.
They could have just hired a PR firm to send some trolls over to HF. That worked for the Oilers.

If this is just about 'controlling the message' then that is super lame. What message? Why does it need to be controlled? They're rebuilding, if anything they're over-achieving at the moment.

And for the Star Trek fans out there..."Fly her apart then!!"

Let the season begin.
Personally I always love a good Flames/Canucks rivalry.

Silly stupid bashing talk is for forums.
Looking forward to play and dynamic hockey across the league.

Also, didn't the old unofficial canucks fan site have a huge meltdown and implosion years ago? They guy who was running it literally picked up his ball and took it home, IIRC.

I think rutherford's ass is still burning from Friedman reporting that they had already hired Tochet whilst Bruce there it is remained behind the bench.

Blaster can probably add more colour, but it seems Rutherford withdrew behind the foreskin of Acqualini, Inc and hasn't been seen since.

That thread was legendary, but was a classic case of how toxic this place has become. I'd share my disapproval of pineapple on pizza and share a meme, Dion would respond with a pro pineapple meme, then i would post another meme. It was all good light banter until certain people started name calling and let loose with personal attacks. Like really? it was all fun until a few turned it into ####

Pretty much this. Certain tenured posters seem to get away with a lot of trolling and it feels like mods are unwilling to enforce the site rules as it would be the unpopular to go against those long time posters. Some wont think it's an issue now, but that overall toxicity wears people down and eventually they move on. At least on Reddit, the fights get contained in their own branch and trolling type posts get downvoted so the majority don't have to see all of that garbage

Anyways, the toxic dinosaurs can keep this place. I've more or less moved on from CP and I encourage the posters who are or are beginning to feel frustrated to do the same too. There's plenty of healthier social platforms options out there

CanucksCorner/Central I forget which.

Yes. I'm not sure it was a "meltdown". I think he just got sick of the bull#### that running a forum entails and said "nah, bye"

Edit - Apparently it closing down is what brought me back post cup loss. Also, according to me, it was a melt down. Shows what happens to memory.

I've never trusted Canucks fans, and I never will. I've never forgiven them for the death of my boy*

I love how we've somehow woven Star Trek into all this...oh the Off-Season...it is 'The Undiscovered Country.'

The Canucks should be forced to have a BANNER OF SHAME commemorating the riots.

This kind of makes me sad, only because I worry that it will happen to Calgary Puck some day. I don't like twitter or reddit. I like the forum format. I've been reading this forum almost every day since like 2005...Where does the time go...
