I'm half-expecting it to just be a Zoom link on the big screen from his fishing boat, somehow that almost seems cooler.

The nice thing is the players when they come into the organization recognize his legacy and nobody chooses to wear 14.
I don't think respect and legacy are the reasons 14 is being avoided.

Like participating in the Charity golf tournament every year? Did he hit Lanny up too when he was honoured? Just stop.
Anyhow I don't want to get into Fleury anymore in this thread.

He truly had ice in his veins.
You couldn't rattle him
. You might beat him 1 game but he'd come back and slam the door shut.
The very definition of humility as well as he never talked about himself only his team mates , goalie coach , trainers and us...his fans .
I still remember NEVER ever worrying about him when the team bailed on him on defense and he truly did carry this team on his back .
I loved the alter ego created by Mike Richards . Those were gold . Absolute gold.
I love saying this ....Sutter knew he was a great goalie but no one could have imagined he'd do what he did so consistently.
Congrats Miika. It was indeed a pleasure seeing and cheering for you for many years .

Theo's jersey will never be retired by the Flames.
That's probably the best option anyway.
Heard it from someone very close to the Flames org a few years ago, I trust their information and perhaps others here who are close can echo it -

His ability to shake off a game and shut the door the next was something else.

I don’t even understand how someone needs inside info to be convinced of this. It’s never happening, the reasons are right there. He doesn’t hide them.

Hope Iggy and Conroy can convince him to wear a suit. Would love him as our goalie coach.

I don't think so. I don't think anyone wore 12 either out of respect for Iggy.
