Don't know much about this kid, but looking at his stats led the QMJHL in goals by defensemen, 3rd in points. 17 points in 12 playoff games to lead his team. Wow very impressive stat line. Scouting report looks solid, sounds like a kid who will play top 4 and QB the power play in the future.
His neutral zone and gap control from those clips look solid too. He’s a good skater and isn’t afraid to use his size to stand guys up. At 6’ he’s by no means small. Really happy with this pick. And as Reggie said earlier he’s super well spoken. I think we got a good one. To me he looks like a future number 2 dman. He probably makes the WJC team.

Sneaky good pick. I would have taken this guy in the low mid 30's if he was there.

This kid looks really good both on and off the ice. Huge need in the prospect base too. It seems like the Flames picked a top-end defencemen. His numbers probably would have looked even better than they did now, and he probably would have went earlier in the draft. This is an excellent pick I think.
always love when the Flames pick an offensive-minded defenseman in round 2 or 3, they've had a pretty good record for those over the years. Andersson, Kylington and Fox (I know, I know ...) all proved to be good picks and Poirier is progressing well too. And in today's NHL, I'll always go for the offensive dynamo over a stay at home D with little offense.
Morin is also my favorite pick of this year's class. Seems like a great kid off the ice too, very well spoken und humble. Just seems like a fantastic pick all around, I'm glad he was still on the board.
Love this pick! Kid looks like a very well-rounded defenseman and isn't shy about playing with physicality. It also doesn't hurt that he fits in with our current and upcoming French-Canadian contingent (Huberdeau, Pelletier, Poirier). Well done Flames!
Cerebral, poised, always surveying the ice with his head up. You can't teach that.
I can't help but to think that if he played in the WHL or OHL that he would have been a 1st rounder with ease. Q defenders always get unfairly categorized as one dimensional.
He seems awfully similar to a guy like Josh Morrissey.

9th highest u18 production of any Canadian d-man in the last 23 years. Not a lock of course to be an impact guy but there’s some incredible players in the league that didn’t come close to what he already accomplished as a junior player. Hopefully he’s more Byram that Vande Sompel. Excited to see how the future trends.
