If Wood is available and the Flames pass I might have a stroke

You convinced me to vote for Wood.

I read Wood has compete and skating issues to huge red flags.
Danielson doesn't have those same issues but probably isn't as talented.
While Musty sounds likes a offensive dynamo which is why I went with other.

I voted Perreault but there's no chance he makes it to 16 as he's probably going top 10.

First, he was 16/17 (D-1), just to be clear. And second, it was the BCHL, so let's keep that in perspective. Why wasn't he in the dub as a 16/17YO?

So he could go to Connecticut

I voted Perreault but doubt he's there at 16.
Don't remember a draft where you could put up 10 names and not be disappointed with any of them.
The Sale engagement issues are there, and I've seen Simashev as a 4-5 and don't draft this high ... but other than that I can't imagine I'll be disappointed.

Went with Barlow because he seems to produce goals in all kinds of ways which is sorely missed on this team. I think he could be a future captain too. I'd be happy with any of the options though.
Sale is my sleeper pick. Despite the red flags he has speed, skill, size and playmaking ability. Just needs to put it together more consistently.

General sentiment is everyone I want is either slightly off the board or not likely available. Also, I'm generally a fan of swinging for home runs than taking safe picks.
In order:
- Cristall (Result: voted for "Other")
- Pellikka
- Musty
- Perreault
- Heidt

Feels like the 2013 draft where a lot of good players came out of that first round but the Flames went 1/3. The likelihood is half or less of the 10 names will pan out. While we will probably be happy with any of the 10 names, good scouting and luck is probably going to play a big role of us being happy about the pick in a few years time.

assuming Moore, Wood and Perreault are gone (and they will be), I'd be happy with Danielson or Musty.
also still think Cristall will turn out great. If we could somehow pick up another 1st ...

I don't think Perreault will be there at 16, but I also worry about drafting an American with deep Illinois roots.
But would be funny to have a line of:
Perreault-Perreault-Perreault
None of them related.
Did Mathieu Perreault retire?

I would pretty much rank them as they are listed on the poll.
But for Barlow, I really doubt he'll be available. As such, I voted for Perreault.
I would be happy with any of the first four, plus Cristall and Musty.

Yeah even a loaded draft, you could end up with Jessiman, Nilsson and Bernier instead of Gatzlaf and Parise
Button had improved since those days so we can feel a little more optimistic

Simashev.
6'4", incredible skater. He's going to stick in the NHL for a long time. If he somehow slides to us at 16 I'd be ecstatic.

If we do end up trading Lindholm/Hanifin/Toffoli then I would try getting:
Moore
Danielson
Simashev
Three great skaters, two forwards and a dman.

Is there a chance wood will fall? I though that he was meant to be taken top 10?

I don’t mind Danielson, but he feels like the ultimate “safe” pick. Doesn’t have a lot of weaknesses, but there isn’t anything there that is elite either. I am sure he will be a very good NHLer, but I am hoping for a bit more upside in this draft.
