It would certainly be something if Weekes was wrong.

He didn't do that in this organization.
And the rest of the roster(s)? A lot of nothing until his last season in Stockton when he had guys like Mangiapane, Andersson, and Kylington dipping their toes.

Considering where this organization has been over the past decade it's quite telling that despite having the entirety of the hockey world to hire from for both the GM and HC position they elected to hire those they are most familiar with for both positions. That's where my concern stems from. It's hard not to conclude that these were relationship based hires first and foremost - and that is coming from someone who is a big fan of Conroy and his "vision".
You can't convince me that the most qualified people for both of these positions were right under our noses for the past five years.
I truly hope it works out for Huska but color me skeptical - I am not convinced he has shown the ability to lead an offensively charged and creative system. We will see.

I am wondering a couple of things. If we see Love as an AC maybe he was open to being an assistant while Huska forced Conroy's hand by saying it was HC or he was leaving. Another thing I had mentioned before is maybe Love doesn't want to be HC of this group right now, there will be big pressure to win and he might rather start with a rebuild than the mess that was the Flames last year. All I know is I hope to God Tanguay is coming in to do the offense.

Just a big fat bowl of mama's porridge. Not my preference but they didn't go completely off the rails with their hire. In fact it's a pretty boring hire. Maybe that's a safe bet for Conny.

They do, but unfortunately they’re already under contract with an NHL team.

Meh...
The Flames are a hard team to cheer for right now, and this does nothing to move that needle.

Based on what?
Is it possible that monkeys might fly out of his butt?
Does your question have ANY basis in reality? What evidence do you have that Love wanted more money?
And saying that $$ is a big factor to Ownership? Based on what evidence?
This is lazy spit-balling at its worst.

Taking a while to get to 5000

I expect this and next season (maybe more) to be retooling years for the Flames. So to me, Love or Huska are pretty much interchangeable. Both with strong qualities. But I'm not going to lose sleep if one gets it and the other doesn't. I would have preferred Love, but am fine with Huska. I just don't feel like there is a great list of assistants who have taken over and succeeded. That part does give me pause more than anything.

I don't have problem if it's Huska, yet, just hope he is not a Ward kind of coach.

It's really not that hard. Not hard at all in fact. Just cheer, be a fan.
