They have a different preview show up for the items and meeting the people. I watch it on global under the history tab.

I used to be a contestant on Alone like you, then I took an arrow to the knee.

So pretty consistent equipment couches
A couple that picked a net over fishing equipment and a shovel over an axe
Except the one guy picked both an axe and shovel by forgoing the Ferro rod. I don’t recall someone not taking a ferro rod before

I could have sworn I remember there was a few guys who tried this. Some guy exchanged the rod for a net or fishing line or something? But I believe I read that all champions and runner ups selected ferro rod. Of the 10 items, all champs had sleeping bag, ferro rod, axe and saw in common.
https://theprepared.com/blog/alone-w...gear-analysis/
I read this is because the energy requirements to make fire without a rod and maintain a fire with extra fire wood is not worth it in the long run. The energy saved or obtained by getting that extra tool isn't as much as easily making fire using the rod.

Other than the bugs(and doesn't appear to be an issue at that time of year) I disagree. It's incredible up there. Should be a decent amount of food resources. Why do you think it is bad?

Maybe it's not as swampy as I think it is?
I also expect fishing may be no good, which brings it down to s starvation contest, but perhaps that's incorrect also?

Fishing will be great there. This is what my boat driver used as a "spoon" lure. Said he didn't need bait. It's a very life filled area, so I think it's better than others have been. I didn't find it swampy, I think it's more sand than mud for a lot of it.
And that's the midnight sun on Canada Day heading back to Inuvik around 11:40pm. Damn, now I want to go back...

Ya, that was not great. I wonder if he regrets it now. I would think if I got thinking that way I'd still try to tough it out another few days to see if the feelings past.

Some are basically on cruise control right now , some struggling. Making stupid mistakes out there could kill you. Literally

Are you referring to Michela? If so my fiancee and I found quite the opposite, and were quite invested in her journey. What did you find annoying about her?

I always find it refreshing when these folks are genuine to the cameras and just flat-out admit that the social isolation is too much to take.
So many try to make excuses on this or that, when it's perfectly understandable to say "I don't like the alone part of Alone". We're social animals, I get it.

Fair point.
And not her fault, I just thought it was pretty obvious from a few moments in she was going home this episode - so I guess my 'complaint' should be filed with the editing/story board people, not her.
