Shockingly stupid. Utterly predictable.

Mounties are seeking charges against a male who became stranded in an evacuation zone near Fox Creek on Friday and had to be rescued by helicopter.
Around 2:45 p.m. RCMP were notified that a male was stranded northwest of Fox Creek after using a gravel road to go around a checkpoint.
The male's truck got stuck, and he became surrounded by an active fire in the area.
Because of the fire, it was deemed unsafe for first responders to rescue him.
A forestry helicopter was sent to the area, and airlifted the male to safety.
Incidents like these only serve to put unnecessary strain on all first responders while threatening the safety of our communities.” said Staff Sgt District Advisory NCO Neal Fraser in a news release sent out on Sunday.

Any word on what this guy was doing? Was he trying to save some animals? Thought he could save a house with a garden hose?

Charges won't stick I'm sure, he'll call Smith up for help, and she'll hold a press conference saying the un-evacuated are one of the most discriminated against groups.

Difference being, this time Smith told people to listen to the experts and follow all emergency orders.
Her lack of consistency doesn't help any.

So you’re saying she’ll most likely flip flop?

Mom not leaving again. They had a neighborhood meeting which is great considering the guy who headed the meeting thinks that the fires are deliberately started by left wing climate militants who are drying out the forests with planes. He has pictures of these planes he claims

Huh...he seems calm, rational and stable.
Did he happen to mention perchance 'why' anyone would do this?
Because his claimed actions dont appear to be in line with the supposed goals.

Idiots. It would be way easier to just leave your fridge and freezer doors open.

I know it isn't Alberta related, but it adds to everything that is happening with fires in the Maritimes and in Quebec. Tumbler Ridge was evacuated, and the fire, the last I heard, was within 3 km of the community. I think it is safe to say Canada is in deep need of rain

You need to get her to leave. This is worse then the last time. The town is basically on fire now.

I think the bigger risk that is driving the evacuations is encirclement. The last Edson evac they were down ti the highway to Hinton to get out of town with fire threatening to cross if things went wrong.
So we aren’t really close to a BC lose a town yet but if things got bad you don’t have the resources to helicopter thousands out.
It could get there though which is why people need to evacuate. Military reserves have been mobilized in at least some areas.

This is where I'm at with my Mom and her husband. If the fire reaches town it will block the west exit. The East could be blocked off the fire reaches there and, and then the north way out of town on the bear Lake road would end up where it's blocked because of the Peers fire
