just remember that 31 teams are going to be losers in the end...all those wins from all those teams will be "meaningless"

Enjoy a win and seeing some nice goals, its just a game after all

Solid game by the flames but it just feels like too little too late at this point.

We're trending to finish at the top of non-playoff teams and get a 14-16 overall.

I hope they make the playoffs but it feels like worst case scenario unfolding? But good win I guess.

I don't really see it as worst case scenario...they will still have a better pick than the 8 teams that lose in round one and the 15 that don't win the cup. Heck half of those teams won't even have a first at all.

It stings the day the season ends but after a couple first round sweeps it gets better pretty fast. 14-16 in this draft will have plenty of good options.
The only time when its really bad is when you trade your first that year...Panthers, Sens, yikes

I hope the Flames make it and go on a miracle run but honestly I would rather finish 9 than get swept in round one or something. Trading your first and missing the playoffs is the worst case scenario, thankfully that isn't happening.

I think it's worth noting that Ottawa isn't a throw away team.
We only went into this game 1 point up on them. Yes they were tired, but this wasn't just a bottom feeder trying to play spoiler.
Good win! I hope they start to give Marky some extra run support now that he's starting to pick up steam.

Yup, and they also seem to have our number last few seasons. Good to kick the crap out of them on the Scoreboard.

Any surprise that in another important game Backlund shows up with great plays to get the team going?

I still think he's the best candidate for captaincy if there is one on this team.

Most ice time of any Flame skater (even the D). Impressive work.

Good win, solid tending, lotsa goals, kept pace

Any good development camp will have wingers do speed laps with a puck, if there's a good difference in lap speed the clockwise one plays left wing no matter what way they shoot.

Kind of sped through the game on PVR. Sens were absolute trash, score flattered them massively. Too bad for Markstrom that Backlund blew his shutout but I’m sure he’s happy with the win.

He's like a tangs on steroids, and he needs a shooter. Hopefully Coranoto can fit the bill.

“Sutter been watching tape. Has forwards hugging the wall on our breakouts and we keep trying to hit the forward at the opposing blue line wall lol. Sealed every time.”

Fun fact. Sutter does watch “tape”. He’s that old school.

Oh, of course he scored from everywhere. I was just conjuring an image of a typical Iginla goal and that’s what I got. Of course, an example of anything Huberdeau does from the right doesn’t mean he’s not happier on the left as a rule. Forwards criss-cross all the time. But they prefer a side as a default.

When I think of Iggy the goals that come to mind are from the right side like you said you.

The imagine ingrained in my head is that goal in game 5 vs Tampa what a shot.

Iggy was the best.

Nice to have a very comfortable win for once. I decided to skip the 3rd and head to bed last night instead of nailbiting for another hour. I know that's a tired team with a rando in net, but I still think the Flames played particularly well. Top players playing like top players finally. Toffoli could be pushing for 40 goals if not for all the posts this year.

Whatever happens at this point, just go on a streak. Either win a lot or lose a lot. No more of this middling win 1 lose 1 stuff. Decide which team you're going to be and go for it.

I missed the game. Was the rookie Sens goalie a sieve?
