Good news is there are only 3 games left vs them ( Bos- Tor- Ott)

Vs the west they have a .600 record so this would put them around 95 pts
I think almost everybody has a relatively worse record against the East compared to the West. Top 6 teams in the league in points and pct are from the East.

At home where they are really good, in the 10 games remaining they play CGY, Bos, Was, Sea, Vegas and Winnipeg. No easy 2 points there.

95 will be tough to get for them.
2 head to heads with the Flames will likely be what tips the scales or not

We hope for a sweep to gain ground on them, but the Flames will likely split just to make exactly 0 difference in the race

If they actually take the opportunity and beat them twice, then they're back to having a good chance of making it

It’s just math. We will see.

The Flames lost to Ottawa, Detroit, Philly. I don’t think matchups matter as much as how each team is playing.

The Flames for example. On any given Sunday can beat anyone. Then literally the next day look like they have never played hockey before.

I think the Minnesota games will decide it.

Flames have been brutal vs the east 11-11-7 (so only 3 more to go vs the east) and pretty good vs west so yes those 2 games vs Wild will be huge.

P.S. also note that Detroit are 2 pts out of PO spot so technically they are better than Flames

Yes but only 6 out of the 16 teams out west have a losing record so this is where the Flames lost ground on teams ahead of them.

Heading to the mullett tonight. First time seeing the flames since 2009 I reckon.

How about a nice 5-4 totes loss in regulation?

Also excited to see Darryl on the bench one last time probably

Win, lose, it doesn’t really matter. The Flames need other teams to lose in order to make the playoffs. Such a mediocre season.

Me too. They are going to go on a rip into the playoffs. Watch and see!

They still control their own destiny for the most part. Win both games against the Wild in regulation and they probably hold the tie breaker.

The real problem is it doesn't look like goaltending will improve to the point where it will matter.

Markstrom is actually worse than he was the first two months of the season lately, and Vladar starting to falter a bit too.

I'm always game for some divine intervention - because it would take nothing less to turn this trainwreck around.

Well they need to get things going soon because they have already slid back to a precarious spot in the standings where the Predators could even pass them.

They absolutely control their own destiny. They have made it hard on themselves big time, but there are too many games left in the season to worry about what other teams are doing.

But it's going to take a sharp reversal to make it happen, especially in net. I'm not expecting it to happen, but I have not given up hope.

Is this the afore mentioned train wreck.

I had heard Arizona was winning games lately. But points in 9 straight must put them in the mix for leagues hottest team. Perfect timing for the Flames.
