That’s where we’re sitting so it’s safe to say we’re on track.

I don't think we have enough of that here. Tre was in a rush to prove that people wanted to play here after the two superstars left by signing Weegar, Kadri and Huberdeau.

But we weren't their first choice. We were the ones left over throwing the most money at them.

Feels like there is a real lack of buy-in this season and it starts with that.
But how else do you attract FA’s to Calgary? Let’s be honest, we aren’t a very desirable location. Winnipeg and Edmonton are worse but unless there is a boatload of cash you won’t see players lining up to come here. It’s the unfortunate truth.

Sure Tkachuk is a point machine, but the team has suffered on the whole.

I think they'd prefer last year's iteration of their team over this one that might end up 9th
But Florida see them not as valued than Tkachuk. They knew their shortcomings that they didn't want to keep them with high cup hit which they will demand.

I think today's their position is a different talk.

Yup, I also think the Flames could get a lot for Tanev, Backlund and Coleman, who have all played well this season and who are all on the wrong side of 30.

The Tanev interview was hard to listen to.

Guy gives it his all game in game out.

He sounded totally depressed.

Best way to attract player is to build a very good team with a great core players. I'm sure some players still go to the bigger market teams but there are players that wants to play in a good team with a good chance to win and be completive many years.

I just can't fathom how Sutter watches that game unfold and can't muster enough effort to try making even one change to the lines.

You win his way or you lose.

He deserves better and should absolutely not be taking all of the blame for the lackluster play.

I’m Tanev’s interview, I found it interesting how many times he said the exact words “I’m supposed to be a leader. It’s my fault.”

He said that sentence 3 times with those almost exact words.

Makes me wonder if someone said something to him or called him out?

Would be weird to call him out of all guys

I think you need to build a core through getting amassing 1sts and 2nds through 3-4 years. Having that group of players develop together backed by some solid vets. That core group will peak together in their mid-late 20's and you get bring in supporting UFA's that want to win and believe in the foundation that's set up.

Based on Sutter’s interview, probably chewed out the vets. He does have a point, we have had the worst starts post-road trip.

If someone called out Tanev then you have to question following this team as a fan right now.

If true he should demand a trade.

That's exactly what I thought when I saw the interview. You don't keep repeating things like that normally, you can clearly tell he got that sentence chewed into him post game.

I'm not sure what Sutter sees from his line ups and why he tries to hard to keep them like this. His 4th line brings nothing. Doesn't bring much energy, can't keep the puck and can't mane any play.
I didn't see a single good pass from Kadri. His not using his wingers and always caught with the puck. Thus his line is not dangerous.
Lindholm line is just an average at best in 5 on 5 plays.
Backlund line plays better but can't score constantly to carry the team's offence.

I think it's time to put Lindholm with Huberdeau and Pelletier or Toffoli.
Put Dube with Kadri and Mangi
Pelletier/Toffoli - Backlund- Coleman
Ruzicka-Lewis-Duehr

7 games to the deadline. If this team loses all 7 of those I still don't expect the Flames selling at the deadline. What a horrible situation right now.

Played around with some AI image generators...I think these sum things up pretty well:

At least our new mascot is still less creepy than the stray cat from the Jersey Shore now in Edmonton...

This team needs to be sent to the glue factory.

They don’t deserve to make the playoffs.
