Clearly the Flames win more than they lose, but fans will have their own standards and expectations. I think Treliving is a shrewd manager, but he is subject to the course which is established by actors above his pay grade.
As a fan I have been frustrated by the course the team has charted over the past 3-5 years, but they have exhibited a commitment to be competitive and there is something to be said for that. A blow up/tear down rarely produces the results that some fans are desiring, as you imply, because it is difficult to build a culture. It's just hard to see the team get out of the middle without a significant commitment to a youth infusion.
