Team had 9 points in the last 6 games and were unlucky to get all 12.

Feels like things are turning. Markstrom back in form. Weegar and Huberdeau both starting to look a lot better.

This league is comical.
I agree. Bet they didn't think the same last night though when the officials refused to call penalties on the Oilers.

Big regulation win by the team. If the Flames want the most favorable playoff matchup, they’re good to have to continue beating the Kraken and the Kings in regulation to do so.

Thought Mangiapane was an absolute monster tonight. Vladar was also excellent as usual, he really saved the team’s bacon in the second. Lastly, didn’t like Huberdeau on the Oleksiak goal, but he made for it with the winner tonight. This last stretch of games since San Jose is probably the best he’s looked as a Flame.

Huberdeau is really rounding into form. He finally found a line he can mesh with. Lucic looks like the second coming of Adam Oates.

I hope Vladar gets to play more. He’s a machine.

Huby with 16 in the last 16

the sample size of consistent scoring is growing

but the last 2 games are the first time he's looked game breaker quality imo. he's around the puck more, picking off plays and making things happen at even strength, which was the knock on him before. hopefully this huberdeau is here to stay

Hubby and Kadri really seem to be gaining some chemistry which is great to see. It's good that Lucic is fitting on the line as well, but I'm concerned that he's not going to be able to keep up that level of play.

At this point its just good to get those 2 going no matter if its Lucic now and who ever going forward with them . The Flames need those 2 to click so results so far are good . lucic wasn't always a scrub . he was deadly in boston playing with better guys . lets just get huby and kadri going as a pair and just appreciated that lucic looks like his old boston days for now. I rewatched a mini doc about lucic and he said he needs to be at the highest emotional level possible to bring his best .well, Huby is very emotional when you watch him on the bench , Kadri is definitely a guy that plays on emotional highs and lows . I don't think lucic with those 2 are the answer permanently but I think we are seeing a resurgence in Lucic game for the time being because of those 2 . Lucic in his boston prime was the same as Iggy . there was a thing around the league 'don't poke the bear because he will wake up "

What I think is making that line gel now is not the competition poking them but 3 guys who are poking each other .
no reason these 3 can't be competent together . as short of 2 years ago that looks like an elite 2nd line . go back 4 in fantasy land and on paper that's a devastating 2nd line huby at 26 kadri at 28 and lucic at 30 years old . they all play that fast entry slow down and set up type play . no reason they cant do that still. i think that line sees a big uptick in possession and crash the net chances in the second half of the year

We were very lucky to come out of that 10 minute clusterfata in the 2nd, only down by a goal. Two breakaways and another prime opportunity to the left of the slot for their Tanev.

Thankfully Vladar was all over it and he gave us the chance we eventually took.

After reading the Around the League Report I've come to the conclusion that Kraken fans are smarter than Oiler fans.

Vladar is the real deal. One of those back to back breakaways go in, we lose.

Huderbeau is finally finding his game under Sutter, wouldn't' surprise me to see him end the season and a point per game. Has to have more confidence in that shot though.

If we can get Kylington back and move stone to the 7th D... That would be nice.

Flames will go as Huberdeau and Markstrom go. When they both play well, they will win more often than not.

This was a super important win, Seattle will miss the playoffs and it was key for Calgary to be the one to jump into that spot early. Colorado is going to wake up once they get some key players back from injury so that last wild card spot is gonna be a bloodbath to get, don't wann be there.

Big for Huberdeau to burry that GWG. Hopefully he can feel some pressure falling off.

Can't fault the effort on a B2B with travel after what was likely an exhausting game against the Oilers. I thought the Flames had real trouble with the Seattle stretch passes for the first two periods, but seems to figure it out in the third and took over.

I chirped Lucic in the game thread and then he had an excellent third period, and I was glad to eat crow.

Two goalies playing well and a team that seems to be meshing. It does feel like the season is starting to turn a bit.

If both goalies keep playing well, this team makes the playoffs.

The Christmas break seems to have done wonders for these guys. They look energized, rejuvenated. Only a few days off but it may have been enough to reset. Excited for Saturday and the Canucks.

Mangiapane was very unlucky to have not scored, I counted 2 of his shots off Grubauer’s mask that probably should’ve gone in. Several posts in the game too. Really good sign that despite some bad breaks (posts, etc) they still found a way to win. Really hoping they go on a tear here soon. Also, Huberdeau looked pretty jacked to get his goal, Lucic was pretty happy as well, nice to see.
