I didn't notice Lucic much outside of his goal, which I guess is a good thing. I still think he can play a role for this team, it's just not a 12-14 minute a night role.

Plus you don't want to say anything good or bad or you get followed around by certain posters who only like to comment about other posters and not the actual game.

Mackey got called out for a bad play after a two goal game. We insert a 7th dman to cut back his ice time.

Lucic scores but otherwise contributes nothing to the team and you are a hater.

It's a double standard on this team.
Maybe get some new material

Constantly complaining about the same things over and over again win or lose makes people question your motives for being here.

For sure .. I'm not looking for Lucic to be in a top nine role or even in the lineup every night.

But when people go over board on a topic I can't help but push back.

Tried to watch but passed out watching (xmas festivities the night before )...

Glad to see them get some goals and the W.

They really need to string wins together to help in the standings but also for the morale of the fanbase.

Wow, I've never seen the Sharks to be this bad. I think they're definitely going for Bedard big time. Man, that Timo Meier would look great in a Flames uniform.

I’m not ashamed to admit when I’m wrong. That was a fun game to watch. You can’t blame me for doubting though, they haven’t made it easy on us this year.

The Sharks are a look to the future of what the Flames could look like in about 4-5 years. I don't mean that as a doomsday prediction but by that point the Flames will still have a number of veterans signed with term remaining and tough to move $ amounts. But probably not enough to be a competitor.

I think that's when they re-build...3-5 years from now.

And the second time, and the third time, and the fourth time. The funniest thing is that the last two times he blew his identity he did so because he couldn’t resist posting about his bathroom problems lol.

That’s like every team now days though. There are a lot of late 20’s early 30’s players signing long and expensive contracts. I’d say we have Huberdeau, Weegar. Borderline Kadri. Every team has that though.

Majority of the rest of our contracts are $5 million or less. I don’t think it’s that bad if Huberdeau can figure out how to play in Sutter’s system. Gaudreau did it eventually.

Yeah it's why it's frustrating to see them struggle now. In theory this and next season are probably as good as it gets for this group and their window and in the back half of the decade things could be pretty challenging for this franchise given the amount of mid-30's players that will be consuming a large portion of the salary cap. I wouldn't be surprised if the next CBA adds another round of compliance buyouts as there will be a good handful of teams hamstrung by bad contracts.

I think it's fair to say he likely benefitted from a few games off to rest up. Proper usage for him is likely key, and I think Sutter was giving him too many minutes.

that's why they need to somehow win a cup or at least make a final in the next year or so, because after that the next window of contention opens up around...2033. the new arena better be fire because that's a long time to go without on-ice satisfaction.

Big 2 points that game. I don't really look at the standing much before the Christmas break, but took a peek and was surprised they are tied point wise for that last spot. Considering the way they have played and the 7 and 5 game losing streaks that they have had, I thought they would be farther out. If they win their 2 games in hand, they can be tied with LA, who are sitting 2nd in the division.

The Flames didn't really have to battle through much adversity last season, so a couple bumps along the way really can't be unexpected. That being said, the defensive situation is starting to worry me.

The big difference may end up being an explosive cap situation.
SJ got cuffed with a prolonged flat cap at a bad time.
