Just feels like such a more mature team than last year.

Missed most of the game because I was at John Mulaney but thanks to some dbag in his box who preferred to watch the game instead of the show, I got to see Campbell pulled.
What’s up with this awful lazyboy set up for the post game? It looks terrible.

Weird that the narrative wasn't "3 posts saved the Oilers from being blown out".

Another outstanding hockey game played by the Calgary Flames. Once again, they were composed and mature in ways I did not feel they were last season. Perhaps a different game if the Flames could get it to 5-1 on any of the several opportunities, but I guess credit to Skinner. But I also think even at 5-1 that the officiating and vibe of the league at this point is going to dramatically favor the Oilers. The Coleman penalty call demonstrated that to a tee.
Thought the center depth we've been talking about all summer really showed tonight and Calgary's four centers were a lot better than Edmonton's four centers, which was the difference in the hockey game. Rooney was quite good tonight and the fourth line was excellent throughout.
All six defenseman on Calgary were good and the unit was significantly better than Edmonton's.
Didn't love the third goal, but Vladar was very strong and composed.
This hockey game was won down the middle of the ice. People can praise Edmonton all they want, but their team proves again and again it's just two players. There is little structure or discipline. Gameplan is just to go on the offense and get as many powerplays as possible. Pretty embarrassing in certain respects.
First powerplay really showed something special their last couple cracks at it.
Kadri and Backlund lines were both very excellent. And I think Lindholm group will get some heat, but were decent and will clearly need some time.
It's a matter of confidence, composure, and maturity. Calgary at a different level in those areas than a group that seemed to really struggle in those areas last year.

I'm not even sure the puck hits the net anyway. Just like the chance at the end hit the side of the net.

Yep, just taking half a second longer than necessary before getting shots off.

First of all, it's great to be on the winning side against the Oilers. This game just reminded me again why I hate them so much. It's because no matter what you do, if you're leading, they will be given some of the weakest PP calls ever. Also I didn't get why the refs allowed the Oilers to hit players without the puck in the 2nd period.
Vladar was awesome tonight, and it seems like it was a great decision by Sutter. I liked the second line again, meanwhile both Toffoli and Lindholm were a bit snakebitten. Also, what a first period by Stone, just keep doing what you're doing. Also Zadorov was clutch on a lot of clears tonight. All in all it was a good hard working win, and we deserved it despite the dip in play in the 2nd.
Now, lets get 2 more W's against those pricks up north.

The way they’ve played in the third tonight and against the Avs is a good sign.
Really locked things down tonight and dominated the third. A bit more sloppy against the Avs but in total gave up 3 high danger chances at 5v5 in the third period between the two games.
