Is that back? I thought they got shut down. No games were working the beginning of the season and there were rumours they got shut down. Haven't checked back since then.

I tried to watch the Hurricanes game yesterday but it said there was a problem with the video. Will try again for the Pens game.
There was some issues with the home feed in the beginning they had the wrong city tv feed then it said problem with video for awhile but the away feed was working.

Looking that the list of countries that would need a VPN it looks like Australia is one of them surprisingly.

Cheers, I'll look into the VPN option.

Yesterday I used onhockey.tv. Was barely 720p but watchable, just.

That Sportsnet Now app really sucks. Options to watch games are, Watch live, start from beginning and catch up. Catch up are highlights of the game, but seems to miss the most recent action, including goals. They really need a resume function and better fast forward and rewind options.

Also. When you watch on restart the feed kicks you off when the actual game ends. So if you are a period behind you have to start over from the beginning and fast forward 30 seconds at a time for 2 hours worth to get back to where you were. Major oversight not having better ffwrd options.

Saturday was the most reliable SN app has been all year for me . Worked great. 3rd period came around and it booted me out, some credential error. Then had a feed error. Missed half the 3rd period. I truly wonder if Rogers programs this #### on purpose to make people buy a cable TV package?

I'm kind of in between. I notice them sometimes but not enough for it to really bother me too much.

Mario doesn't seem to work for me anymore. Not sure what the deal is, maybe there's a special browser plugin or something I'm missing? Anyway, most Flames games I watch are at a bar or my office where there's cable, so it's mostly the out of market games that are the issue for me.

But I'm sure not giving Rogers any money - that service is utter trash.

Oh ya…….. yeah I’d get to used to this type of quality if I were you.

Don’t worry though they got your money so they’re good.

My biggest complaint with SNET Now is all the hissing in the audio. It's like listening to an 8kbps mp3 file from Napster 30 years ago.

Edit: I watch in the browser instead of the app. According to their site, the apps max out at 720p while in browser (supposedly) is 1080p.

I have also gotten the message "fast-forwarding has been disabled by the broadcaster' a couple times, but not enough for me to have figured out when and why it happens.

Very bizarre, and I was surprised that it is even possible.

I'm in this camp. I didn't even notice them until I watched for it, after all the complaining here. And yeah, if you stare at the boards, it'll drive you crazy. But I find if I don't focus on them, they mostly disappear. The only time they are bothersome is when there is significant movement in the ad, and the player with the puck is close by.

I am far more concerned with the gambling ads, and if there is a hill I am going to die on, it's that one.

You don't find stuff like this distracting? Or when the puck is shot above ice level, and just disappears as it crosses the ads? Or the way the pixels twinkle and shine as the camera pans, and the frame rate isn't right? I think they are super irritating. But hey, more cash so ticket prices can keep going up...

I might be hyper focused but anytime the digital board ads change or flash, my eyes dart right to that area. It's a reflex that I can't control, kind of like when you're driving and you notice movement to the side of your vehicle.

But yeah, my focus is taken off the play, off the puck, and it f'ing pisses me off. Can they not go full on gaudy circus spectacle and just make them static? The decision to add animation is just insane to me.

Love the sport, but literally everything about the pro league is getting less and less supportable.

I think zamboniman had a great post in the nhl.tv thread. He recommends the different platforms for 1080p. What I noticed is that my stupid onboard samsung TV snet app performs a lot better (fast forward actually works and is 1080p) than my google chromecast which is dead in the water with 720p, and ultra-annoying fast forward.

I'm still surprised they're even allowed to do this. I sure hope the people who pay for the real ads on the boards are paying less now, since they don't get TV exposure anymore.

You type NHL 66 in Google but if you live in certain countries it requires a VPN unless you pay bitcoin for the services as a premium member. The rules changed over a week ago it was required by the NHL according to them.
