I want to see
Huby- Lindy- Mangiapane
Dube-kadri- toffoli
Coleman-Backs- Ruzicka
I mentioned it earlier that if Milano does not make the cut that Ruzicka and not Pelletier would have a better chance of grabbing that 3 line spot. It is there for the taking. We will see who grabs it.

i'd guess it has to do with ice quality, since there will be 3 teams and the Roughnecks playing at the dome. Why tax the refrigeration more than needed; also, the building is crumbling, so perhaps public safety and liability?
I just don't understand why they have Eakin as the placeholder on L2 over Pelletier.
At the very least, give the guy reps with good players. You don't have anything to gain by having Eakin there. I get Mangiapane isn't expected to be out long but Pelletier has earned the opportunity to practice with the big boys. 75 great AHL games trumps a so-so rookie camp.
Sutter said it himself... he's giving the pro tryouts the best chance to earn a contract. He also said that if Pelletier wants a spot, he's going to have to show it. Said he doesn't have to do anything special, just has to show he wants it.
My take away from that was Sutter wasn't impressed with him in the prospects games, and is saying Pelletier hasn't even shown he wants to be on the team yet. Once he shows that, then he'll get a chance to earn it.
It's all in his presser from yesterday.

Surprisingly I think it is coming from Sutter himself. He always mentions how important the fans are. This is not a good way to show it. I read on the flames homepage that it is up to the coaches.
Guy posted a picture back on July 3rd of him vacationing in Greece, literally the only post he has on instagram from the offseason, and somehow that translates into partying too much instead of training.
Not to mention dude was still shredded in those pictures he posted.
Well, instagram isn't just posts. There's stories that are posted that disappear within 24 hours. He definitely had a good summer traveling Europe and partying, but there were certainly a good portion of workouts/skating in the mix as well.
I don't get the eakin dislike here. He's a former 20 goal scorer in limited minutes. Still young. Played on a bitterly terrible buffalo team. I think he's a great guy to have in the mix for the bottom 6 if he's coming at PTO level contract.
I like anyone who helps the team win games. Or hammers Oiler players through the glass. If he does that I’m good.

It is very frustrating and not right. This policy needs to change.
I completely agree. Not everyone can afford to go to the games especially with young kids. Practices give the fans the opportunity to attend and take their kids. It's a good way to expand the fan base in the future. It doesn't matter how many attend. It's a great way to advertise. It also means that those of us who are fans, but don't live in Calgary, get an opportunity to view videos posted by those who attend. At least that makes Fire On Ice interesting for some of us.
This will only make a few die-hards cry go home and cry in their chocolate milk but still buy every version of the jersey, watch all the games on TV when they aren't at the games in the 'Dome.

I wish visitors were allowed at training camp just to see if Valimaki has improved his skating over this summer, guess will have to wait until some game action
