Yeah, they're fine. I guess we just haven't seen a lot of them yet. Maybe that's a good sign that they go far?

Offff - tough to support Sharik when she wanted to quit. I felt bad for her dad. That said I’m going to blame this breakdown on the mega leg. I’m going to guess she was very tired and likely hangry. I probably would be the same way. They are my team and will cheer for them Linton.

Not that interesting of an episode overall, though Petra is gorgeous.
The time dilation on this one seemed really odd. It looked like the guys left the metal detection with quite a lead...but the 3rd place team beat them to the box?
"I wish we had some kind of reference" while she doesn't look at the giant stone building in front of her...
Linton seems like such a standup fellow. Shame he's saddled with a dud of a partner in Sharik. At least she gets her wish this time around.

"I'm an artificial intelligence engineer..."
"It's smarter than it sounds."
This week, the teams travel to Jordan and Linton & Sharik finish what they started last week and get eliminated.
I wonder what happened on the road to Petra that allowed the second group of 3 teams to catch up to the first two. It seemed like they had a sizeable lead leaving the road block. They all had drivers, so it shouldn't have been because someone got lost.

I'll be interested to see what they do. I doubt they do it the same as Canada, unless Canada was their test run for the idea.
Please don't let the eliminated teams come back! They were... not good.

pretty sure no eliminated teams coming back, they've already done exit interviews
and if you watch the preview close enough, you'll know who got COVID (only one team is not shown)

Well my remaining team seems to be getting better as we go along, so that's good.
The tasks tonight were pretty boring again, but Jordan is beautiful and I wouldn't mind going there one day.

This week, it's not an elimination leg and it's not a non-elimination leg. Abby & Will get COVID and get eliminated before the leg begins, so all the other teams know they won't get eliminated... but finishing last means you'll be starting 45 minutes later than the lead teams next week.

Not too bad of an episode. I liked the sword dance. The cart-thing was weird, but kinda funny when they were falling apart while being driven.

It was an alright episode. I do prefer having an elimination, but I understand that they didn’t want a double elimination, so it makes sense. I did like that the carts were falling apart as well!

Damn, one episode and my team gets covid cut(my A team), and my B team finishes last! This is going to be an uphill struggle, but at least I'm not in Surferguy's shoes...

They made a big deal about them starting 45 minutes behind the first group, but didn't really mention the fact that they'll only be 15 minutes behind the 3rd group.
A lot will depend on how the next leg is designed, but a 15 minute lead can disappear pretty quickly on this show.

What's the situation with flights now? Are they only using the charter and not going to airports and all that anymore? I definitely haven't watched all 34 seasons of this, so maybe that's a longtime change?

Yes, they're using the same chartered 757 that they used for the post-COVID reboot last season.
I think it just makes it easier for them since every country still has slightly different entry restrictions. This way, they ensure that teams aren't at an unfair disadvantage because someone got randomly selected for a COVID test when entering a country.
They'll probably go back to the independent travel at some point, but it might still be a few more seasons like this.

This was filmed a year ago, too, so restrictions were a lot more severe in Europe.
I got a laugh at how after the DQ was announced, the first bit of running in this leg everyone suddenly had masks on.

No it wasn't. They started in late May and finished in mid-June.

I noticed that about the masks too. The charter is a post-covid change. Probably helps with both entry requirements and testing requirements in the tv industry which seem pretty strict overall.
I didn't realized the last team was only 15 minutes behind the second last group. I thought it was a 45 minute delay from the last group. I don't have a lot of faith in Glenda and Lumumba overcoming it though. Even when all the teams depart at the same time, they seem to find a way to come in at the bottom.
