I am a big Kadri fan. Obviously term and natural regression due to age is a concern, but he should be good for a few years and clearly this team went all in to win now at this point anyway. I will choose to just live in the now.
In the meantime, Kadri may be my new favourite Flame. Gonna have to get the t-shirt.

Does 7 years suck? Yes, but if we win the cup in the next 3-5 it does not matter, I am glad they are going for it, will be exciting time to be a fan for the next 3-5 years and then we rebuild. Better than being mediocre

Went from expecting Zadorov and Gaudreau to leave in free agency, Tkachuk asking for a trade, Gudbranson goes to Columbus and that Treliving would give Jarnkrok a couple years.
to
Huberdeau, Weegar, Kadri and Zadorov staying.

I agree. This is the definition of all in and if it blows up on us in 4 or 5 years we also could get that all in rebuild then as well. I absolutely love everything Brad is doing. This is the definition on not just being happy with being a middle of the pack team and making the playoffs

My worry is age. Primarily.
I mean, when you look at the age of a lot of this group, they're going to have 2-3 years to get 'er done.

We are going to be an aging post-cups Chicago team in years 4-7 but we should have some good times before then.
At that point, we hope for the cap to expanded to a huge amount and then Huberdeau and Kadri cycle down to 2nd, 3rd lines and become depth nearer the end of their contracts.

Yes, Kadri turned down a trade to Calgary from Toronto in 2019, but as he said at the time: it had everything to do with wanting to remain a Maple Leaf.
Believe Calgary had become a frontrunner for Kadri in the last few weeks. And now…deal is done. #Flames
