Can't you get the name bar changed?
Go retro and have Titov or Cammalleri or Jokinen or go obscure and go Heaphy or put your own name on it.
Or burn it. It is your jersey - do what you want. Johnny did what he wanted.

His family, whom I believe are nice well intentioned people, complained about the distance. His contract was running out and went into the final year with not even ongoing discussions of an extension. You don't need to be a mind reader to see red flags. Management gambled and lost, and that is on them. None of this came out of the blue, except maybe Columbus being the final destination, but that part is irrelevant.
Managers don't need to be mind readers, but they do need to be able to read situations.

They didnt gamble and lose. We got to the second round since when? U want management to be ahead of whatever the next star is thinking and pull the trigger whenever things dont look right then dont b**ch about a team that misses or barely makes the playoffs year after year.

You're not making a great case for management by mentioning that second round of the playoffs is great achievement for this club. I mean, it was, but the bar shouldn't be that low.
For me, losing a franchise player in his prime is not a fair price to pay for a second round playoff appearance where the team was basically dismantled by the opponent. The gamble was definitely a loss IMO and could cost this team's ability to compete for several years. Did anyone really think after last season that this team should go all in, risking losing Gaudreau for nothing? They may have beat the minimum expectations, but at a very high price to the franchise.

Way over the top by the OP, we're not Oiler fans here. You know uncouth uneducated, barbarians.
We have class and dignity. Donate your jersey. Or hold onto it to see if someday there's a tiny statue of John Gaudreau in the HHOF and then sell your vintage jersey for some serious bucks.
But burning a jersey? You might as well throw in some books by Shakespear or Orwell while you're at it.

Do you really think that any team was giving up franchise altering pieces for one year of Gaudreau after a down year? Not trading him for what would've probably been a late first and one or two b prospects could cost the team the ability to compete for several years? Lol?

He could stay and be a part of something, or he could leave and get paid.
He chose to stay, and a month ago Gary handed him the Cup.
Gaudreau was the entire offense - it’s incredibly unclear how good any of our remaining players are without him, aside from Bread.
Landeskog leaves, that team is still a Cup favorite at the start of the year.
Gaudreau leaves, and nobody’s even sure if this team is any good

And what does that have to do with your original post that I was responding to? You said it’s managements job to know when a player’s mind is made up and act accordingly. I said he’s not a mind reader.
Your post here isn’t talking about that at all. You switched topics.

I have nothing of John thankfully, I said I'd buy a jersey and crest his number and name if he were to sign, hope Tkachuk signs as I have his jersey.

My house has 5 #13 jerseys and one #19 jersey. I think I can have a fire of my own!
