Yeah between Zadorov and Gudbransson, I'm surprised Z got the lower AAV, and less term. He's not that old either and I think he's realizing that he can contribute a bit more offensive if he puts his mind to it.

Yea, last year he made some surprisingly nice offensive plays, the skill can be there.

Seemed to work out OK last year.

Zadorov isn't a player for all situations, but he is exactly the right player for a certain kind of situation that nobody else on the roster can handle.

I like the term. He brought a lot of elements the Flames were lacking last year. I thought that his hits and smart rush defense could really impact a game. In addition, if we blow it up, he is always an asset at the deadline for a playoff team.

I’m a little worried that he showed a lack of chemistry with both Andersson and Tanev last year, but he was a great fit with Gudbranson. Hopefully he improves his cycle defense, and occasional brain farts in his own zone.

Zad isn't old. He looks to have more upside by the looks of his game last season and in the playoffs.

Also this is free agency. No one is coming at a discount price.
