He won't count against the cap if he is in the AHL

People want prospects to play in the NHL, you need to fill a roster in the AHL too

honestly fine with all these moves, I doubt we have the ability to move Lucic/Monahan this year but they come off the books next year. Tons of decent UFA's available next year, rather not make an impulse move that's going to keep our hands tied the next few years. Next years draft is a good one also. We could be in a better position next year by not going out and throwing money at a Kadri

I liked desimone, thought he had an outside shot of maybe an emergency call up. Hadn’t heard of either of them before they signed though. But they didn’t get 1 way deals.

Welinski had a one-way $750K deal; DeSimone had a two-way, but his AHL contract was $400K or something like that; not that those numbers mean anything to the Flames cap
