No shots on that PP. Thought they had some nice looks though.

I don't mind the experiment, but I'd like to switch 4 and 55 back on the PPs the way it was.

Too much Backlund and not enough Toffoli on that PP2.

Flames are shooting wide a lot.

Plays just seem to die on Backlund’s stick. So awful as of late.

What the bleep was going on with PP1? Hanafin and 2-goals in 23-games Mangiapane? it didn't even look remotely dangerous until PP2 got on and made it look like Flames were on a powerplay.

Wasted 2 minutes.

As of late? Second Half Backs never showed up this year. I would like to see Ruzi get a shot at centring that 2nd line.

I feel like they've been shooting wide a lot all season. I think it's the result of trying to pick corners rather than shooting for rebounds.

Flames were a bit better in the last half of that period, but still lots of room for improvement.

Okay, I thought we badly outplayed them for most of the period, so bring that same energy for the rest of the game and we should be good.

One of the worst periods they've played all year IMO. They finally started to wake up in the last 5 minutes there, but man, they just don't look very engaged tonight. 3rd game in a row now where they've played like this. Hopefully they can get their s*** together in period 2.

Backlund doing some good Hudler impersonations with how wide some of his shots were missing

But overall a better period after the first 5. Shot attempts 28-15 for Calgary

I know most won't put much into these games, but I really need to see some consistency and sharpness to their game. I find it hard to believe that they'll just be able to just flick a switch and play lights out once the playoffs start. Come out much harder in the second, boys!

Cool little segment right here, this is the stuff we should be getting during intermissions more often
