Meh on a back to back with travel and some goofy ass calls from the red with our back up goalie. I think we’d take em.

We'll see what happens on the 26th where the Flames will have had two days off. It would be a very close and even series but it seems like Nashville has a slight edge.

Based on what exactly? Their worse record? Their thinner lineup? The fact that they score fewer goals than the Flames? The fact that they give up more? The fact that 2 of their top 3 forwards are Duchene and Johansen?

Based on the fact that the Preds have beat the Flames twice already this season and both games were even matchups that went to OT. It isn't necessarily indicative of the future but we can't throw out the past without taking it into consideration.

Hard to read much into a game where the Preds season is on the line and Calgary has a double digit lead. Not to mention played, travelled, backup goalie.
Both games were also ties by playoff standards
I would choose Dallas but the Flames should beat either

In a continuous 5 on 5 format it's hard not to pick the Flames to come out of that one based on how it was trending, all the external factors aside.

And remember when McDavid averaged about 6 points per game against the Jets and they swept and outscored them 500-6 in the regular season?
Yeah.
You don't know until you play the real games. Both games were solved in the gimmicks which won't exist either, even if you tried to put stock into them.

And the Flames also won the season series against Dallas the year they faced them in the playoffs. That gets thrown out the door in the playoffs.
The Flames almost doubled shots against Nashville in the first game and lost on a blown call and I'm pretty sure that was the game the puck bounced off a Nashville player and into the net. Tonight Nashville needed the shootout to get an extra point.
Both games could have easily went the Flames way instead.

The Flames had no legs last night, they were skating in quicksand for 2 periods. And they had nothing to play for. And the Preds were desperate.
And the Preds still didn't look all that formidable.
With no speed to their game last night, the Flames didn't put any pressure on the Preds' D, and it was too easy for them to break out of their zone. Despite that, it was an even game. When the Flames play at full speed and bring pressure all over the ice, it will be a different story.
The Preds have two scary players: Forsberg and Josi. The Flames have more talent and are deeper.
It's the playoffs - you can't take anything for granted, you don't win it on paper, and anything can happen. But as far as assessing the other team goes, the Preds are a bubble team.

I gave you thanks simply because you knew the names of 2 of their forwards.

Last time I played the "I hope we play" game was in 2019... Flames could of faced Dallas but myself (and I think most others) hoped for and got Colorado in round 1.
Never again.
You get who you get and so be it.

Is he saying we need to throw this game vs Dallas to help propel them into WC1?
On the other hand, if we can't handle the Preds in a series then we aren't going anywhere anyways. Bring on whichever opponent (just not Vegas pls).

Too hard to predict how any one series might go. Nash and Dallas both have huge pros and cons and totally depends on who shows up and how.
Coin toss, I say let the chips fall where they may

Yeah, like with Nashville I can see Saros and the defence playing a big role for the Preds to given them a shot in any game.
And with Dallas I can see Benn and Seguin elevating their games beyond pedestrian against the Flames because of their historical success against us and that playing a factor. Also Pavelski continuing his Flames-killing ways.
And I can see the Flames playing their most dominant style of relentless Sutter hockey and rolling over either team just as easily as the above scenarios.
But you just don't know until you play the games so it's all just hypothetical based on historical reasoning until then.
So spin the wheel. I don't care. Just drop the puck already!

On a scale of 1 to 10 on how much weight I would put on those results, I’d say one at most.

In playoffs every player down the roster is invested in the game and trying to do their part to help the team win, and you'll see sacrifices and second efforts on the level that you won't in the regular season.
Regular season games down the stretch when you have your position all but wrapped up just don't compare on the urgency scale.
It's impossible to say what will transfer and what won't in an elimination situation where your season will ultimately be judged.
Then add in different officiating standards and no gimmicks and it changes the game on a lot of levels.

If you're looking on sportsclubstats, I don't think those numbers include tonight's results. I expect it to be more like 80% NSH now.
