Edmonton has 9 OT or shootout wins.
Dallas has 14 OT or shootout wins.

The difference is pretty marginal given they've both benefited pretty greatly from the skills competitions and not regulation wins.

Calgary only has 5 OT or shootout wins for reference.

They also said another team has been gifted every benefit… your team was gifted so many first-overalls they had to change the lottery rules.

Stars are the only club that can realistically catch Nashville who are completely useless. As it stands Calgary gets free bingo spot Nashville Preds in first round. A boring club that can't score to save their lives. Markstrom would shutdown that club so easy. If you want Flames to lose in first round you want Dallas to face them.
Oiler logic at its finest.

Nashville 234 GF
Dallas 208 GF

Anyone have the details about the Johnny / Markstrom words exchanged at the end of the game there? Surprised it wasn’t part of this thread…

Commentators speculated that Markstrom gave Gaudreau the signal to hurry when clearing the zone, resulting in the puck being shot over the glass, probably unnecessarily. It was probably something along the lines of “whoops, sorry dude.”

A team like the Kraken are exactly what the Flames need in preparation for the playoffs. Seattle is big, grind it out and don't give any time or space. But they're missing top-end players. The Flames aren't going to be able to have time with the puck in the playoffs so it's great to have a team like the Kraken that force you into moving the puck fast and never being able to take a shift off.

Josi having a more impressive season than any Oiler or Star if you think about it. He's literally having the best season by a dman this century

They kinda terrify me. Stud goalie. Josi playing like prime Brian Leech and their forwards are underrated and deep. I would not be shocked at all if they went on a deep run. People basically not paying attention or in denial

Nobody outside of Edmonton should be cheering for Edmonton. They’re the prime example of everything wrong with the league. A franchise that has been gifted every conceivable benefit by the league, starting from favourable draft rules, to favourable officiating, to favorable scheduling. A management staff who run the team like a video game and show no loyalty or appreciation for its players.

I hope they’re stuck in cap hell for eternity and miss the playoffs for 50 straight years.

Easily.

Has helped that fourth line transition up the ice.

I only watched the first period last night - how was Mackey's game?

Steady. Not as impressive as the previous game. Still real solid for a guy stepping in as an injury replacement though

I thought he was terrific.

His game will never wow you, but he is just steady at every aspect.

Played more ES last night than any other dman.

Another version of Tanev? Tanev brings so much more than even statistics show.
Guys amazing.

Guys amazing.

Wouldn’t that be a gift?

Don’t think it’s time to call him Tanev 2.0 just yet but he’s very composed and doesn’t make many mistakes if any.

Valimaki probably more talented but his problem is between the ears. He looked like a broken man the other night. Much worse than at the start of the season where I thought he was fitting in well. Maybe unrecoverable.

Hadn't realized the Flames had closed the gap to Colorado on goal differential and are two behind them now. Plus, virtually guaranteed a top three finish in this stat.
