Again, pile on but I think the team is slowly starting to tune Darryl out.
It’s too hard for our guys to play above their skill level.
Especially for an entire year !

Pretty incidental, imo.

I think its ridiculous to expect a team to play .900 hockey for months...first back to back losses since January and it wasn't even really a loss

I guess the team taking a little bit easy for these games.
I would the change the line ups for the next game. If we can't score I want to see more energy from the players.
Monahan is not suitable for the bottom line.
I want Mangi - Dube - Toffoli
Lucic - Backlund - Coleman
Lewis - Carp - Jarn

At least 4th line will bring energy for us!

Only positive for me was seeing how easily Zadorov stepped up when Kylington went out. Seemed like they didn’t miss a beat even with 5D and the scrambled pairings; I believe the 2-2 goal was against Hanifin/Andersson.

That was a sloppy, awful game for the majority of it. The Flames were spaced out and lazy. They need to get out on the road to break things up a bit, if not they’re fading at the worst possible time. Nashville, Dallas, Vegas (if they get healthy) will chew up the team that played tonight in 5 or 6 games.

In the past, overtime and shootout were strong parts of Monahans game. I understand not playing him in a high speed overtime, but why not the shootout? I mean if you're going to dress him, might as well.

Dallas who barely beat the Ducks in OT tonight

Flames are fading because they lost a couple 1 goal games. Shootout isn't even a loss. They have a better record than all those teams down the stretch.

Yes, Instead of Backlund send Monahan.

So your theory is that this group is already tuning out a Stanley cup winning coach in his first full year because of a loss to COL and LA in OT?

Was at the game. It sucks to lose, and the Flames were pretty lousy at points, but they had some good stretches too.

LA was lining up 1-3-1 and the Flames had trouble getting through to retrieve dump-ins which resulted in easy transition back out for LA. I think a lot if how you beat a system like that is hard work, and I'm not sure if we want the Flames going balls to the wall for a game like this.

If Sutter felt any pressure to push hard and win this game he would have played Gaudreau and Tkachuk more than 17 minutes and change.

On to the next game.

Sutter: ok boys let’s stick to our game - skate hard and make it miserable to play on home ice.

Team: loud and clear coach, clown car fire drill it is!

we were just getting OT possession when the ref gave lindy 2 for being held!

I know...but maybe

Flames lost in a shootout to LA (playoff tie)
Dallas beat the Ducks who are worse than LA in 3 on 3 OT (playoff tie)

Dallas is fighting for their lives and squeaked by the Ducks, no easy games in the NHL

Second best team in the division. No easy games in march/April/playoffs. Darryl has been saying this for months. This is all prep for now. Tkachuk was not good tonight. Neither was lindy.

I’m not worried at all, these are good experiences.
