I suggest you not tell me my business.
We use leading Q’s all the time in discovery. And that’s not because we know the answer. It’s because we want to elicit one.
ETA: Her question of “what do you think” wasn’t actually leading either. It had a premise and invited comment on the premise. That’s not what a leading question is. A leading question suggests the actual answer.

And actually leading questions are terrific to get info. It’s how you cross examine someone.

Yeah those rambling questions that have the answer embedded within are really effective. Maybe you are listening to different press conferences than I am.
I'm sure you realize this isn't a cross. Who are the journalists advocating for here?
And if you are going to make that accusation, who are the other journalists you refer to in the bolded?

Wills does it all the time. Whoever asked an almost identical question about Coleman in the same presser.

Sure I will, since you ain’t one. You went through your bio with me (the time you called me a fascist) and journalism wasn’t the hundred areas in which you claimed expertise.

Actually, I never went through my bio with you, nor did I ever claim expertise in a hundred areas. And while I am not a journalist, I've worked with journalists and studied under journalists, and I know perfectly well that you are not a journalist. The techniques of that trade are not the same as those used in a courtroom.

He's very keen on letting people know that. There is a certain kind of person who thinks credentials are an adequate substitute for competence, provided everybody knows about the credentials. They needn't even be credentials related to the field in which the competence is being claimed: as when a lawyer thinks he is an expert on journalism.

Yeah, so keen. As for credentials versus competence, luckily enough I have both, so it’s not really an issue.

You have no credentials OR competence as a journalist, and whatever competence you may have as a lawyer (I have my doubts, based on the silly way you often construct arguments online) has no bearing on journalism.

Not that either. I guess you think blatant lying is a way of being competent as a lawyer?

LOL. When I act as a lawyer you’ll know it. And I would think a journalism expert would recognize hyperbole.

What're you taking about....I just got off ten hours of work and this is exactly what I wanted to hear about ... Not the Flames pummeling one of their western rivals.

What we should be discussing ad nauseum is Sutter’s comment about how it’s “public knowledge” that the Oilers are one of the top 2 teams in Canada.
God that was awesome. Should be the theme for next E=NG thread.
