I'm predicting a big bounce back game from the Flames with Markstrom leading the way.

Sounds like Lindholm was, and still is under the weather. Maybe as far back as the California trip.

Interesting comments Sutter made. Saying rivalries are built by performance rather than proximity, and that Florida built their team to beat Tampa Bay. This is very similar to the 80's Flames who built their team to beat the Oilers, whom were one of the best teams in the league back then. So you could say that Florida is like the 80's Flames.
Which begs the question; Are the Flames not building a team to beat one of the best in the league? Which surely isn't the Oilers or Canucks anyways.

Monahan with a 3 point night, spending the while game with lucic and Dube, with no shuffling.

#Flames will face Spencer Knight, not Sergei Bobrovsky vs. #TimeToHunt tonight.

It's going to be really interesting to me to see if Bennett goes after someone or vice versa, a fight? Would be awesome I think.

I think it may be good that Calgary didn’t eke out an undeserved win last game. Maybe they have some fire tonight.

I believe it was a talk in the other post-game thread, but this Florida team that everyone seems to fawn over (and they are an elite team no doubt) has lost 4 in a row this year with a 7-2 beat down by New Jersey, lost to Seattle 4-1, and prior to the covid/holiday break they were 1-4 in the preceding 5 games, with an 8-2 loss to Ottawa, and 4-1 loss to LA.

The point is I think some people are blowing the Flames current skid a bit out of proportion and putting Florida on some unbeatable pedestal when it's actually a lot closer than that in reality.

4-2 Flames after a tight game with an EN goal.

Lay off or not, having a 2-7-1 record in the last 10 is really bad no matter how you spin it. there is reason for concern.

Username checks out. I wasn't putting any "spin" on anything, nor did I say the recent slide wasn't cause for concern. I just said I believe it's closer between the two teams than some are making it out to be. I wonder if Florida fans were sounding alarms when their team went 4-5-1 over 10 games a month ago.

I think a win tonight against Florida would be a good spring board for the Flames to start a winning streak.
I don't post much, but I check in pretty regularly.
Unlike this board, I have a hard time dissing the Oilers when the Flames are playing equally as bad. (record wise)

Don't get me wrong though, the Oilers are my least favorite team, and I do take pleasure in their misery.

Halfway thru the 3rd Bennett rips off his Panthers jersey to reveal a flames jersey underneath, completes the heel face turn and gloriously returns to the flames bench and scores the go ahead goal moments later. Crowd goes wild, all 4000 of them. Loudest the dome has been in ages.

Almost immediately after, Sam proceeds to take a double minor in the offensive zone and Florida scores twice on the power play. Flames lose 4-3.

Yeah, my brother and I decided we should stop making fun of the Oilers. Seems to be bad juju.

Sorry to hear that and for your loss.

If we have to wait for Edmonton to get good before we can be good, it's gonna be a long wait.

My condolences man, it's always very difficult losing loved ones. It really puts things in perspective. I hope you get a distraction out of the game. If you need someone to talk to, you can always PM me.
