Same here. I have never even touched a firearm in entire life. My father had a hand gun when I was a child, but I was never allowed near it and had the fear of god put in me to stay away from it. I was terrified of it.
But I feel the U.S. is too far gone at this point and there are places where not having a gun would cause anxiety. You hear about multiple/mass shootings, drive-by shootings and shootouts with police all the time in some cities. It's completely nuts there and there is no other comparison in the world, outside of actual war zones. The U.S. has more than twice the number of guns in the civilian population over the next highest country. Just to be clear, those things I mentioned happen in Canada occasionally too, and more so in Canada than most other Western countries, so we're kind of nuts too, but at least we are still sane enough to be somewhat surprised or shocked when it does happen.
Other countries have gun culture as well. Firearms are popular in Swiss and Icelandic cultures for example, but I don't think things like drive by shootings have become part of the culture in places like Zurch, Geneva, or Reykjavik.
